I wonder what the OP was on when he posted this.

I heard the sirens too, police vans (donít know how many) sped down Underhill - it all sounded rather urgent and had me look out the window..

And yes - a siren will mean something urgent - but it seemed like a lot of sirens all at once..

I did too and thought something serious had happened.

They are our Emergency Services ...

Why sound So Surprised.. ?

#FFS People need to be a little less Sensationalist.

This was a lot of sirens all at once, apparently coming from the same place.

It was unusual.

I never heard anything and a mouse scurrying across my carpet would wake me up.

I would not be asleep at 21.40.

It didnít really happen then.

Didn't it.. ??

I have Very good double glazing and keep my windows closed at night.

I'm used to Sirens and Aircraft. I just do not take any notice of them any more.
Fire engines used to excite me when I was 5 y/o.

Must people grow out of it.

Still get off on the Sound of Distant Thunder..

Foxy..

My partner and I were sitting in the garden, and we both heard and commented on the sirens.

It is very usual to hear one or two, not so many at once.

I thought we would hear of some local incident the following day.

I doubt if we would have heard anything if we had been inside the house, so I'm a bit bemused as to why anybody would say there weren't any sirens just because they didn't happen to hear them!

I did not say there weren't any. I said I didn't hear them..

Some one else Sarcastically suggested that as I did not hear them 'It didnít really happen then.'

Fox.
