Weekly sessions every Monday, Tuesday and Friday 10-11.30 term time. Drop in sessions no need to book.

This week we?ll be learning all about Bees; looking at real honey comb; tasting honey and making a stripey pine cone bee mobile to take home.

Honey bees and bumble bees, queens, drones, their waggle dance communication. Come to increase your bee knowledge and celebrate our British bees.

The Reserve is blooming, insects, pondlife, plants and flowers abound, even the occassional reptile! This Reserve has a very concentrated amount of wildlife to show the children.

Muddy Boots is hands-on, engaging, fun and all outside in the fresh air of our lovely Nature Reserve. Session starts with time at basecamp to learn about a seasonal aspect of nature.

Then there is a linked seasonal activity which may be tool work, craft, construction or working in clay etc.

There's always digging, watering, exploring and mud painting to keep you busy in the garden. Then we'll have a walk in the woods (distance to suit your child) and head back to the Basecamp for snacks and drinks, songs, stories or poems.

Prices: It's ?8 per child, ?12 for 2 siblings, child-minded children discount available.

Recommended for children 14m upwards, but younger can try too. Siblings under 14m go free

Dress for the weather, its very dry in the Reserve at the mo. but shoes that don't matter if they get a bit grubby are better.

Meet up at the big green iron Reserve gates on Devonshire Road (opposite Tyson road) at 10am. There is on-street parking on Devonshire Road and Tyson.

Session on bees this Friday, lovely and sunny in the Reserve. Come and learn about bees, have a shady walk in the Reserve and make a bee mobile to take home.
