25th April - 18th July 4.15-5.15 Philosophy Sessions for 8-12 year olds at Forest Hill Library

Recommended Posts

Local charity, The Philosophy Foundation, are running weekly after school clubs on Thursdays at Forest Hill Library in the Summer Term starting Thursday 25th April based on Peter Worley's award winning book The If Odyssey.

The sessions will tell the story of The Odyssey and will draw out the philosophy that lies behind each story in Homer's epic tale to introduce children not only to the exciting fables of Odysseus, but also to that other great Ancient Greek tradition, philosophy. Join the author, Peter Worley, to explore with Odysseus the value of happiness, non-existent entities, moral dilemmas, the philosophy of prophecy, and the nature of love among many other philosophical issues. This course is aimed at young people aged between 8 and 12 years.

The course runs from April 25th until July 18th, with a break for half term on May 30th, every Thursday from 4.15pm - 5.15pm.

One ticket for all 12 sessions, ?60 in total (+ eventbrite fees).
