sociable cycle ride Sat March 23rd 10am start

Recommended Posts

This is the usual two-hour, easy-paced ride through parks, along quiet streets and around points of local interest. It's called Twenty-one Theatres in Southwark and Lambeth -- some well-known like the Old Vic and some pretty obscure like the Theatre Deli in Wells Way. A list is attached.

The starting point (at 10am) will be Peckham Square which is the open space between Peckham Pulse, Peckham Library and the Arch (SE15 5JR). Ending at the same place at 12 noon. Pic of the Arch also attached. Everyone is welcome and the ride is free. These regular Saturday morning rides are run by Bruce Lynn and friends on behalf of Southwark Cyclists. We are the borough branch of the London Cycling Campaign which campaigns for more, safer, cycling in London.

The aim of the rides is to have a good time, get a little enjoyable exercise and learn cycle routes around this borough and our neighbours. Our website is here: https://southwarkcyclists.org.uk. You can text Bruce with queries on 07729 279 945. Jane will be leading and the route map is here:https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/viewer?mid=1_50lDRb50r6t9nT1QCxm_awLEwbzY872&ll=51.490931424945074%2C-0.09611964999999145&z=13. Enjoy

    • Why not watch a video? I know it’s not the same but it saves such grotesque waste.
    • I have ordered from them and they do free delivery within a certain radius.  Have only had some of their vegetarian dishes which were all good including the onion bhajis that come with a very tasty spicy green sauce accompaniment.  Also, they start service from 1230 pm if you want lunch.
    • The bin outside Harris Primary School has been a spot for fly-tipping weekly. This is now a hazard for the children going to school every day - they have to walk over the rubbish to get into the school!  The rubbish has been there since Saturday, it is Tuesday 23 April today and nothing has been done! I've see a person who lives across the road dumping her house rubbish to into the bin but I believe it is not only her now but other people too! This has been reposted to Southwark Council:  https://report.southwark.gov.uk/report/5888283
