free bike maintenance with hands-on tuition Nov 19th

Our guys will be in Camberwell Leisure Centre in Artichoke Place (SE5 6TS) from 6.30-8.30pm fixing bikes and teaching their owners how to do stuff themselves. This is a drop-in not a course and so what gets taught depends on what problems come in. You can bring a problem or just come and watch and learn. Due to the less-than-clement weather, they will be indoors in the reception area. There's also a cafe and )of course) a pool and gym.

All this is funded by Southwark Cyclists https://southwarkcyclists.org.uk/. We are the borough branch of the London Cycling Campaign https://lcc.org.uk. We are a charity dedicated to the promotion of cycling and making sure that people are cycling on tip-top condition bikes is part of our remit. Everything we do is free and everyone is welcome.   Labour are proposing to nationalise the railways, (passenger trains but not fright) Whilst it removes them from shareholders control, and potential profit chasing, is it workable or will it end up costing tax payers more in the long run? On paper the idea is interesting but does it also need the profitable freight arm included to help reduce fares,?

  Another recommendation here for Jason. He came to plaster over a section of ceiling that we had to remove in order to investigate a leak. He is a really lovely guy, easy to get in touch with and great communication. He was quick, tidy and competitively priced. Very happy and I'd have no hesitation in recommending him to anyone.
