Dear Book group,

I have had an invite from the BBC to go on radio 4ís bookclub on the 28th January, are you interested?

Dear Chick

Following on from our emails a few weeks ago, I wonder if you and your group would like to come to our next recording. It's WILBUR SMITH talking about When the Lion Feeds, his very first novel. It's on Weds 28 January at 5.40pm at BBC Broadcasting House, Portland Place London W1A 1AA. You'd be free at 7.30pm.

Here's a link to the book's page at Waterstone's [www.waterstones.com] You may remember we do need everyone who comes to read the book and ask one question. don't worry if it's not for you, but let me know. very best Dymphna

Book clubbers,
The list for the BBC radio 4 book club in January has closed. There will be other opportunities next year and I will keep you informed. Just to remind you the next meeting is at the Clockhouse in the Blake room at 8.00pm on the 7th January. The book is still God Bless you Mr Rosewater but we can still discuss The Other Side of the Bridge.
Have a good crimbo & New Year and thanks for your participation in the group. I have certainly read some great books that I otherwise would never have heard of.
Cheers
Chick.

I will not have time to read either The Other Side of the Bridge and/or God Bless You Mr Rosewater between now and your meeting next week. If I found out what book you were reading next, would it be possible for me to attend the February meeting? I can gather the information of the book/meeting date from this thread but I just wanted to check that you were not a "closed book" club as it were !!! thanks Janet

I am also organising a trip to Stapleford air strip in May to let some people do 20 minutes of aerobatics. The cost is £109.00. It sounds a lot but is worth every penny for an experience you will never forget. You will get to do loops cork screw turns and vertical flip.

The aircraft is a FireFly. Itís made of carbon fibre and is half the weight of an estate car and twice the power making it very fast.

So if you are interested let me know and I will make the booking.

Cheers,

Chick
