I can NOT recommend that you hire Gerry as your plumber. Reading the many recommendations here I hired Gerry twice. The first time was fine; the second time was in December last year, to remove a radiator from my upstairs room. There was nothing wrong with the radiator, we were redecorating and needed to fix the wall. Next day, I noticed the capped radiator pipe was leaking and called him. He said not to worry - I should 'wrap a towel around it' and would come the next day. I was up most of the night changing towels and newspaper to control the leak. He came the next morning, fixed the capped pipe by tightening the seal and I showed him the water damage to the ceiling of the room below. He said he would get his decorator to look at it. When he returned to put the radiator back on I again showed him the water damage again, and he promised he would get his decorator to remedy it in the New Year. I believed he was genuine. Now, more than a month later he has not responded to text or phone calls and it appears he has blocked me. In contacting a few people here on the forum to get some contact information for him or his company I find they also only have his first name and number. The repairs are going to cost me around ?400 if I am lucky. I am literally shocked. If anyone has any information, please contact me. I believe his surname is McCormack. I am attaching a photo of the damage I am left with. Please proceed with caution.

Following recommendations on this site I had Gary Vu do a job for me last week. His quote was competitive and he arrived on time and was friendly and efficient. Due to price, I expected the job to be quite difficult and time consuming, running in to more than 1 day. However, considering the amount of time the job actually took - around 4 and a half hours, I was stunned to find I was expected to pay the full amount of ?630. I feel robbed.

Wet food for Kitten and Cat (1-7 yrs), well within sell-by-date. I bought all this food and the cat doesn't like it! Cost me at least ?40 - for sale for ?20 ONO Thanks Sorry - wrong thread - I don't know how to delete this now !!

I used Aria's plumbing service after reading his many positive reviews on this site and I had a really bad experience with him, which I would like people to know about. I contacted Aria to install a kitchen tap and he was highly accommodating and helpful. He arrived to fit the tap but quickly left, leaving his brother Dan to do it. Dan fitted the tap and I noticed it rocked on the base, and when I questioned this Dan advised that there was nothing he could do and I would need a new sink. I paid Dan cash and asked for a receipt/invoice which he promised Aria would email me. On reflection, not knowing if Dan is an experienced and qualified plumber or not, I decided to ask Aria to pop by and give me a second opinion about the need to replace my sink, since it seemed rather excessive to me. I thought this was a reasonable request but it was met with shocking hostility and so many obstacles were thrown in the way of it, completely unlike the attitude of availability and willingness prior to the job being done that I was quite shaken and I gave up this request. I had not received my receipt, on several occasions over the subsequent weeks I texted Aria a polite request to have it sent to me. Again, so many convoluted obstacles thrown in my way, suggestions that they would need to 'collect' the money (already paid) and a paper receipt posted through the door one night with no company details on it at all. To this day I have not received a receipt I was promised. I could never use this company again.

Peter is excellent. Highly professional and obviously takes a pride in his work. Comes exactly when he says he is going to, assessed the job and set a date for the work, communicates everything throughout, completes the job when he said he was going to, did a great job, all cleared up. Definitely recommend this tiler.

hi I am looking for someone to do Spanish conversation with myself and my daughter in person for an hour a week, prior to a trip in the summer. She is studying Y10 Spanish but very shy to speak; I am not shy to speak but never learnt it at school and use it in a basic way. I would like us to do it together. I used John 07535 487828 and really recommend him. He tiled in my kitchen and shower - great job and price. He fixed curtain rail, mirror, installed cat flap, put up shelf - very fair price, came when he said he would, really helpful. I would definitely use him again.

I need a tiler and I wonder if anyone can recommend someone please? Its replacing some tiles that have come away from the shower wall and fitting tiles in the kitchen around power points - which would involve some tile cutting Thanks you very much Jennie
