  1. Cracking development opportunity! Let?s hope the purchaser is confident they can get planning...
  2. Support RPC?s comment here - overrun. Can?t move for foxes.
  3. Louisa - get your sentiment but don't think anyone has addressed the fundamental point - if people aren't shopping there they won't make money! Also not sure why an independent shop run by young people (wood fired launderette) is not good but a run down old shop is a true independent shop. We don't seem to celebrate how ED still has and continues to have lots of independents, even if they are trendy coffee shops.
  4. Look forward to racing in my new dyson - will leave everyone for dust
  5. Cracking rant, but I don't think 'drunken' was fair. Tonight you should drink double and have another rant. Personally, I look forward to it.
  6. Was horrendously loud. When I've previously complained to council on a Sunday (for a different issue) they told me it was out of hours (it was 11am) and that I would have to call back on Monday (I.e. When it would no longer be a problem). Southwark has a shocking disregard for this issue - other boroughs take these things seriously in my experience
  7. New Girl - latest research on London resi market suggests property prices are stabilising, and only really took a hit in the ?1m+ area. The real shock was that prices weren't increasing. Even if prices did drop over the next three years, will it necessarily be more than the amount you've paid off your mortgage? As mentioned above, as long as you can reasonably expect not to be in a situation where you are forced to sell, you should be fine over the long term, remembering house prices don't need too go up for you to live a great life in a home that is yours! Go for it lass!
  8. Think we're all missing the point that Mimi summed up quite neatly - she's a twat. Got some great publicity out of it tho. The game of 'no, im the most working class' is just painful. The author of the article doesn't cover themselves in glory by doing exactly what she is complaining about (god all these people saying they're working class, but obviously I am)
  9. All sorted - brought in to London Animal Hospital in camberwell and was microchipped. Should be reunited with owners shortly.
  10. We've picked up a dog that was running around on St Francis Road where I live. No collar, will bring in to vet on Monday when open but if anyone is missing a dog pm me! Unfortunately I'm not good on my dog breeds, but it appears to be a fluffy white terrier of sorts. Ears are partially black. Looks well looked after. Will post photo when I've worked out how to use it! Will look after for a little while and hopefully someone can claim soon...
  11. Recently had our patio and back garden done by a firm and was so impressed by the firm that I thought I'd give them a shout on this. I've dealt with quite a few tradesmen recently but this was the first time I've worked with someone who stuck to their fair price, provided an exceptional finish and was a pleasure to deal with. Company is L Building and Landscaping - contact is Stuart on 07799 848593 - but if you want to give me a shout I'd be happy to show you what he did for me. Not related or benefiting from this recommendation, just know how hard it is to find someone who is genuinely very good!
  12. Aneto gets a thumbs up from me, I think they are a little underrated. I would say tho that I go to different places for black coffee than white - something a previous post picked up on! In terms of your morning coffee though S&S, I actually quite rate the lady outside the station, plus she's very nice.
  13. Is there a hidden game here of not saying where this magical 'hidden corner of Peckham rye common is'? Took me 3 google searches to find it!
  14. All, Latest research I have seen involves quite negative price growth in many of the traditionally wealthy areas namely central London. Dulwich is considered on this and was the only area which wasn't decreasing, albeit was flat on a 3month basis and up 2% on a 12month basis - not huge but the best across the comparative areas. In terms of non-wealthy areas, east Dulwich still hits a spot where aspiration all young professionals can buy or rent a decent house, so will always be in demand whilst supply across the capital is still restricted and the only thing being built is very high value or soulless purpose built blocks (such as nine elms, where you are quite right prices are dropping and it is mainly foreign buyers. But consider those flats wouldn't have been built without those foreign buyers taking them off plan, and then the domestic market buys them cheap when they sell them on...)
  15. I live on st Francis road - so I would say about as close as it gets - and it gets a bit busier in the day, but most of them are builders working on the road. But realistically, it's not that bad, I definitely would never support paying over ?100 for something that doesn't impact me. I've lived in permit parking before and it's awful - in particular, getting fines when you're trying to move into your own house!
