Any point in the right direction/referrals and recommedations welcomed. please reply by PM.
  2. Can anyone who had lasting success with non-lethal Fox interventions please get in touch ? Something that isn't of danger to children and other small animals like cats too. Many thanks,
  3. Hi Harry. I have PM'ed you. There are a fair few of us who have befallen a similar fate as your own, and presumably a number of others out there we are not aware of. Let's hope there's a way to an end of this inflicted cycle of destruction.
  4. On behalf of me and my family I would like to add our voice behind the many others who appear to have had very negative experiences with this company and its Manager, Dominic Lowes. Our recent experience with this company has been completely unsatisfactory, and the issues listed in the initial post by dsloane, are echoed by our own experiences. - The company did not complete the work on time going far beyond the initial deadline, and subsequent time extension. - The Quality of work in many areas was not up to a standard expected of a competent builder, in many instances requiring later rectification. - Damage was caused to owner supplied items, the property itself, and the neighbouring property during the course of construction, and in most cases were either not acknowledged and/or rectified. - They did not dispose of waste materials on a regular basis creating an overload of waste, and when we asked them not to return to site, we had to then cover the overdue payments to the waste removal company. We also had separate issues with the billing practices of TGCC. Please DO NOT consider using this company under ANY circumstance. We unfortunately did, and in our case it led to a trail of destruction that took months to recover from. I will be happy to PM those who may be considering to use, or are currently using this building company with further details, examples and photos that support the summary of our unfortunate experience above.
  5. Amanda. you could book the upstairs of the palmerston if a reasonable group of you with other toddlers/kids. food is great, and you have a rooftop terrace and plenty space in dining area for young ones to play and keep an eye on them. We used it tail end of last summer and worked well. service was good too, they didn't forget about you up there...
  6. hi Adam. Unfortunately it seems everyone is at it. See post below. + others out there.... Once money has left your hands and into others, it is very difficult to get it back. Suggest Citizens Advice Bureau to report it as a case, they will prob. tell you to start formal negotiations in order to retrieve costs. After that Small Claims, then County Court solicitors if it is on a larger scale, and you have the time, inclination and money to chase. This is how the scammers in this trade work it all. As suggested by SeanofDulwich report the name, find out who else has the same issues, and act together. And he has your house key. Get police involved. Its time to show you are serious. http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/pm.php?30,page=read,pm_id=1727711
  7. Hi All. Sorry to hear about your issues. Sadly you are not the only ones to fall foul of these practices and even more disappointing is that the justice system is not very well setup to deal with these rogue traders in the way that it should. See separate posting below with similar experiences. (And not out of the back of a foreign van in this case!) http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?30,1576596,1692537#msg-1692537
  8. thanks Rupert66 and EGL for contributing your similar experiences with the rest of us. thanks also Craigyboy71 for bringing this to life! Part of me wanted to consign this to history and move on but a stronger part of me now wants to do something about what has happened to us and many others. there is a lot of anger out there caused by this disreputable company, and my real goal at least will be to try and protect others where possible from falling into the same abyss, by whatever legally acceptable means. I suggest a meeting at our place (thankfully almost all completed now) to those who wish to take part in this because we have much more a chance of making an impact by forming a collective plan and acting as a group. Also a chance to view first hand more examples of this companies incompetence.(At ours and over the fence at our neighbours) Will PM details if you reply and express interest to be involved with this. best regards.
  9. try these guys, just used them on an extension I have had done, they were great. Miranda Ltd Dalmeyer Road, Willesden, London, NW10 2XA. Tel: 02088304965 Email: [email protected]
  10. Lets set the record straight. I've been on the Forum since February, and yes relatively new as moved into the area last year. I've posted some adverts etc, and get in touch with others via PM on occasions, but am not a very regular user by admission. highly suspicious indeed. maybe get the police involved.... I decided to post to a few main threads aligned to the work we had done, but by no means all the positive threads that Finishing Point come up on, as I said to them I would give feedback here, and like to be a man of my word. (check them out if you like DirtyBox and POUS.theWondercat as it seems you have time on your hands to do this) for me its an efficient way to do this, as it will be a while before I return. Have I broken any rules, are you both site administrators? Again, they did a great job.
  11. I too have also had a more recent misfortune of dealing with this company. The company 'proprietor' was everything that a competent building contractor should NOT be. Our experiences were every bit as bad as noted within this thread, if not worse. I speak on behalf of my family and next door neighbour, who have had a similar, recent experience, and are currently in negotiation with TGGC and considering legal action against this company. Again, please do not use them. My biggest regret of our house refurbishment (and my life) was not spotting the message Harriet2015 posted until far too late. If anybody would like any further information please PM me as am happy to provide further information.
  12. I would like to add a further recommendation toward Derek and the Finishing Point team. On time, on budget, flexible on timings, to a high level of skill and care they installed 60sq.m of new engineered parquet flooring which is by no means easy. In short, they did a great job and were a pleasure to have undertake the install for us. happy to send photos via PM. cheers

  15. Hi Mattram and any others following this post &/or requiring a builder. I know a builder that I would stay well clear of if you wish to get in touch by PM. Best left at that, but just wish to ensure he doesn't continue to operate unchecked at others (great)expense. A cowboy (at best).... regards,
