  1. Can anyone recommend someone who could repair my Miele vaccum cleaner. It?s making some very odd noises and is not working very effectively. Thanks.
  2. Couldn't agree more. A fantastic and supportive space for new parents. So welcoming and the classes are fab. They are now doing story time too which my kids love.
  3. I got called for jury service whilst on my last maternity leave. I was allowed to defer. I wrote saying I was on maternity leave and still breast feeding and that my child was not yet in nursery etc. The deferral was only for about 6 months and happened to be about three weeks after I went back to work! Not the most convenient but at least my little one was in nursery by that point and they paid for her additional days.
  4. Keen to meet up too. Weekday evenings work for me too. Also keen for a Facebook group (I always forget to check the forum), but am not great with technology so happy to let more of an expert set it up (if not I'll have a crack at it!).
  5. Looking for recommendations for gardeners/landscapers who could; - cut back a patio - cut some paving stones and lay a stepping stone path - build some raised beds - may also be some patio sealing work and exterior painting as well Can anyone recommend Emily
  6. I'd love to join too. I'm due on the 11th October with my second. I'm based in nunhead.
  7. Just tried this number and can't get through. Does anyone have an alternative number?
  8. Anyone at Kings Cross on Wednesday? Did you see this fab flash mob? It was organised by my friend in aid of the wonderful mental health charity, Heads Together. It is one of thirty things Jo is doing before she is thirty- such a cool idea and for a super worthy cause. Check out Jo's blog and fundraising page if you are interested in finding out more. http://m.virginmoneygiving.com/mt/uk.virginmoneygiving.com/fundraiser-web/fundraiser/showFundraiserProfilePage.action?userUrl=jowalker&un_jtt_redirect
  9. Another recommendation for Andy and Richard. They have done various bits for us over the past couple of months (hanging curtains, mirrors, shelves, pictures). They are always quick to respond, give reasonable quotes, do a good job and are generally courteous. I'm at home with a young baby at the moment and they have been great with her and have gone out of their way to ensure naps are not disturbed etc.
  10. Another thumbs up for Phil. He's now done various jobs at our including book shelves, window seat and bespoke shelves to fit alcove in the loft. Been very pleased with the work and as an added bonus Phil is a lovely chap. He's quite happily worked around me and charges a reasonable price.
  11. I am looking for a man with van to pick up 9 stenography desks and two laundry baskets from norfolk (nr347td) and deliver to dulwich college on 16th October and return on 26th October. Can anyone recomend anyone?
  12. If you like Motown some friends of mine have set up a Motown trio. They are fab and great for gettingnho everyone up and dancing. Check them out here http://www.freakmusic.co.uk/bands/the_chanterelles#.VdL_q4Z4XCQ
  13. Hi I'm looking for a joiner who had previous experience or would be interested in an upcycling project. My plan is to use old carcusses (or cheap new ones if not) and then put new doors. I really like the idea of creating new doors using reclaimed wood- maybe scaffolding boards?! Get in touch if you can recommend someone or help yourself.
  14. Are you male? Do you like to sing? Do you like to act? Well then Phoenix Players is for you! We are looking for male chorus members to be part of our next fabulous show -Curtains. Curtains is a fantastic show, the music & lyrics were written by Kander & Ebbs who also created Cabaret and Chicago! Curtains is a parody of 1950s "whodunnit" theatre mysteries, where a lone detective, Lieutenant Frank Cioffi, investigates a series of murders that take place place behind the scenes of a fictional 1950s cowboy musical, Robbin' Hood. The cast of Robbin' Hood is forced to stay inside the theatre while Boston police detective Frank Cioffi unravels the mystery, getting involved with the show and falling in love with ingenue Niki Harris in the process. Rehearsals are on a Monday night 7.30pm-9.30pm at Emmanuel Church Hall, Clive Road, West Dulwich. Show Week is from Sunday 19th October to Saturday 25th October 2014. With shows on the Thurs, Fri and 2 shows on the Sat. Phoenix Players is a lovely friendly amateur dramatic society where genuinely everyone is welcome. We'd love to see you there! Just as a heads up...We do charge subs to our members to cover the cost of hall hire and our Musical Director. Subs for this show are ?110 for full price and ?55 for concessions. However as rehearsals have started already we're offering a discounted rate to new members of ?80/?40. That works out at ?16/?8 a month- a bargain!!! Check out our website or pm me for more details http://www.phoenixplayers.org.uk
