  1. Just wanted to recommend the Marvellous Greens and Beans vegetable and fruit boxes. Everything is very fresh and well priced and there is flexibility around what you receive, Very happy with the service so far.
  2. Elliot has just fitted a wooden floor for us, we are delighted with the result and highly recommend. We would definitely use Elliot again in future for any carpentry requirements.
  3. No post for two weeks here either, we are near Goose Green
  4. I also highly recommend Aaron for any plastering work. He did a fantastic job blocking up a doorway for us and was lovely to deal with
  5. Another recommendation for Hussain who recently painted our hallway, landings and stairwell. The job was completed professionally and on time and Hussain was very nice to deal with. We will definitely use him again. https://www.hanoushka.com/
  6. We have taken our children this week to Specsavers in Peckham who were great. I tried the opticians on Lordship Lane who I use myself but they were so busy they were booking a long time in advance. At Specsavers I managed to get an appointment for the following week.
  7. Hello I am looking at secondary schools for next year and wondered whether anybody had any experience of a child with SEN at Charter East or Kingsdale? I have heard that the SEN provision at Charter East is not great as it's such a new school but I was impressed at the open day and as it's our nearest school it's the one we are most likely to get. Kingsdale I really liked but it seemed at the open day that it was all about the high fliers and gifted/talented and I was unsure what the Kingsdale experience would be for a less academically able child. I'd be really grateful to hear any experiences locally, thank you!
  8. Another shoutout for Gather. This is a lovely shop with an amazing range of products: dry goods, oils & vinegars, household/personal products etc. The quality is very high and the owner is friendly and full of good advice. They also stock a range of glass bottles that are very easy to refill and look pretty on your kitchen counter or in the bathroom. This shop offers several easy wins to reduce our plastic footprint. Highly recommended.
  9. Is there a DON'T reverse the road closures petition as well? Otherwise can't see how the council will know which is more popular!
  10. I was walking around this area at 9am this morning after school drop off. Grove Vale was no busier than usual. Melbourne Grove was a delight, it was lovely to see people milling about, drinking coffee outside the new coffee shop without the old rat run traffic. East Dulwich Grove was a bit busier, with a bit of a queue onto Lordship Lane. But no traffic chaos in the slightest.
  11. Yes I think we need bold action to make driving less appealing unless it's really necessary. Otherwise nothing will ever improve in terms of air quality. These changes take time to bed in but in the end they are for the benefit of us all, especially children and young people who will have to deal with the mess we've made of the world in environmental terms. Everyone needs to see driving as a less attractive option.
  12. I think it's wonderful to walk down Grove Vale now on foot, children on scooters. Much nicer and easier. The council needs to take bold steps to address the air quality issue we have locally.
  13. I'e just come back from Peckham Rye park and was surprised how many parents/carers of children are meeting up with others - I saw several groups of multiple adults/children with no social distancing going on whatsoever. Children all freely mixing and playing together.
  14. Yes the pool is back open and showers are hot
  15. Not sure about Southwark but my Dad works in this field. Apparently as a country we don't have the facilities to recycle all the plastic waste we produce - there is not a market for the end product and no money in it. As a result only a small proportion of the UK's plastic waste is actually recycled as we would expect it to. We just need to use less and stop buying it. The supermarkets make it very hard though, we need to put more pressure on them.
