  4. We will be away from mid-February, till late April and are looking to find out if there is any interest in a short term let over that period. The house is in excellent renovated condition and will be let fully furnished. As this is our home, we are looking for responsible tenants who will vacate at the end-of-let. The house is located in Crawthew Grove, so is convenient for shops, schools, transport etc. We haven't set a price as yet, but having seen instances of 2 bedroom flats going for approx £2,200 pcm, we'd be looking at upwards from there (or not, depending on the tenant) Thanks for any thoughts on this subject, as we appreciate anyone making 'helpful' comments. Cheers Steve
  5. I recently serviced/repaired a friend's sewing machine (I used to do this for a living), and she is persuaded that there are many people in this area who also want their machines serviced, but cannot find anyone to do it. So, if you do want your sewing machine checked out, then drop me a PM and we can sort something out. Steve
  6. Hmmm, Did anyone replying to this listing ever get a response..?

  9. The OP needs to take a step back and rephrase his/her arguments Having said that, I agree with some of the arguments as to the lack of consultation, and the inability of the council to be able to quantify the effectiveness of the measures outside of a ?very? limited area. However, I have been out shopping in the past, and called in to shops on my way home, which were not far from my front door. Of course these days, I could, and do, use home delivery services to some extent, but then that too would have an effect on local businesses. Lastly, these road closures have been incredibly divisive in local communities, and have been implemented in a hugely one-sided manner. Other than that, I wish you all a peaceful lead-up to the next lockdown..!
  10. Ho James et al, I don't know if this has been covered or not (I did look...) But given the remarks on here regarding the Northcroft Rd Market, and the fact that the (cough) NHS App keeps reminding me that 'SE22 area risk level is HIGH' has anyone implemented such a simple this as has been done in California? i.e. Street signage in visible warning colours just to make people more constantly aware of the situation, e.g. like the one below?

If I had any criticism of Helen Hayes, it would be that she is not a Tory MP. Because if she was, I would be able to send her multitudinous scathing emails, and attending her surgeries, demanding that the Government start putting the good of the nation ahead of its own agenda and the agenda of its donors.
  12. I would NOT recommend William Bailey, as they were slow, to respond, failed to communicate and I had to email William Bailey directly several times in order to get a response from the person dealing with my conveyancing. Add that to the instance of being charged incorrectly for a registration fee, (which I discovered whilst checking THEIR invoice).
  13. I've just posted a recommendation for Barbara on the forum... Ph. 07581 443 063 I can't confirm if she's available this weekend, but worth a try /forum/read.php?30,2154882
  14. Hi, This is a follow up to a previous recommendation as Barbara now has time to take on some additional work. Currently, she's looking for one-off 'end of tenancy', or spring (autumn) cleaning jobs, rather than long term weekly cleans. I still recommend her, given that she will happily tell people off for wearing shoes where they aren't supposed to (it was a plumber who thought that the clean areas didn't relate to him) He soon changed his ways :) Barbara is happy to provide additional letters of recommendation to interested employers. She has also asked that we let the forum know her rates and contact number: ?15 per hour but will quote directly for one-off jobs. 07581 443 063 Thanks Steve
