  1. Alleyn's are currently taking down a very old and beautiful evergreen tree, possibly a cedar, because the roots are interfering with the new building (topic of this thread). Would they have got planning permission if they had said the tree had to come down? Such a shame. Nothing wrong with the tree other than it's 'in the way'.
  2. It used to go to all the way to Notting Hill. They reduced that part years ago. Would be a shame for the route to go altogether. Not like there are loads of buses servicing the area already 🙄 Petition signed
  3. It was a party. A one-off. Yes it was disturbing but I?m not going to moan about it. If it was regularly that would be different.
  4. Just to backtrack here. I say ?going up Lordship? The Lane is East St as per Peckhamgatecrasher?s post. Another negative here for Megan?s unfortunately. I tried the one in DV when it opened. Over-priced, small portions, very average food. Disappointing as I love eastern Mediterranean food.
  5. I?ve emailed the local SN team as well as the council.
  6. Out of interest what kind of car is it? We had a black Range Rover turn up in our street around that time that has clearly been dumped. The doors are unlocked and there is a set of number plates on the back seat that don?t match the ones on the car. Also packages on the seats etc. I guess it has false plates on it and has been used for a crime and then dumped. I?ve reported it but the council say ?as it?s taxed we don?t consider it to be abandoned? 🙄. Obv it?s taxed, they are false plates. Anyway if your plates are from a black Range Rover, they?re here 😃
  7. We had a long period where the wind was coming from the north east. That meant the planes coming into Heathrow were not flying over ED. Now the wind has changed to the prevailing South westerly the Heathrow planes are flying over again. Next week winds are forecast to be from the north so we?ll have a quiet period. City planes tend to fly in along the Thames from the east. It?s the Heathrow planes that fly over us generally.
  8. I also had my card cloned there, long time ago now and have used this garage since with no problems (other than price..)
  9. I?ve put a swift box up. It?s prob not in optimum place for swifts but I read that sparrows are attracted to swift boxes too. Either would be great. For those doing loft extensions/house refurbs you can buy swift bricks to create nesting spaces. The decline in swifts I believe is mostly down to lack of nesting places as people convert properties and remove the eave spaces they traditionally nest in.
  10. Yes I?ve seen a greenfinch on greendale too. It was a few years ago but good to know they are still around.
  11. After 20 years of living in my house, I am now seeing sparrows in my back garden. Very happy to see them, I love to hear their chirping.
  12. Spotted a tadpole in my pond today. Bit early I thought? The spawn appeared only a couple of weeks ago
  13. available in the literature they are constantly putting through the door. |doubt they make it up. I just walked up EDG at 6pm, very little traffic and flowing smoothly. It was busier at 5pm when I walked down but that's because of schools and school buses
