  1. Flavours of Easter Baking Workshop for Adults Saturday 23 March, 10.30am to 4.30pm £100 Book via www.brixtonwindmill.org https://www.brixtonwindmill.org/events/flavours-of-easter-adult-baking-workshop/ Are you tired of the usual Hot Cross Buns? Do you feel like improving your baking skills while learning some new recipes to show-off during your Easter Holidays? Look no further! Join our hands-on full day Easter baking class and learn how to make three delicious Italian-inspired Easter bakes, which you will take home at the end of the session. It’s for a small group so you’ll get lots of 1:1 tips and tuition. Includes lunch and the delicious bakes you make on the day. This class is designed for a low number of participants, so you will be able to be followed more closely, ask questions and master these Easter bakes like a pro! Of course, you will walk away with lots of baked goods to bring home to share with your family and friends. – Only limited space available – Price includes all the ingredients, equipment and a delicious lunch – Class duration will be 5 to 6 hours with lunch break This class is suitable for anyone, regardless of age or baking experience (although a little home baking experience might be helpful). All the recipes will be fully explained step by step by session leader. Common allergens will be used in this session (wheat/eggs/dairy/soy/nuts). Unfortunately we aren’t able to tailor recipes for substitutions or alterations, as these can fundamentally change the composition and outcome of the recipes. Please inform us of any allergies before signing up, so we can assess your suitability for this class. Session leader I’m Fabio, I was born in Venice and grew up in a house filled with seasonal food and meals made from scratch. Many years have passed since that memory but the one thing that hasn’t changed is my passion for food, tasty and flavourful homemade food. And to the cry of ‘no ready made stuff and fake flavours’, I’ve kept baking, cooking, and sharing my experiments with my family and friends. I run a baking blog under the pseudonym “The Italian Baker”. You can check out my bakes and find my social media channels at www.theitalianbkr.com
  2. Milling & Baking Experience Day - Brixton Windmill Windmill Gardens, SW2 5DA £85 per person Book via our website https://www.brixtonwindmill.org/all-events/special-events/ A unique full day experience making flour and bread with our Brixton Windmill millers and bakers. You’ll not find another day like this in London! Make your own traditional stone ground flour in London’s last working mill and use it to make your own sourdough loaf with Harvey from Toad Bakery. Built in 1816, this Grade 2 listed windmill has stood the test of time and is still producing flour for bakeries and bakers over 200 years later. What you’ll do You’ll get to do a mix of flour milling and baking throughout the day with a break for lunch (part of which you’ll be baking yourselves). By taking part you’ll also be contributing to the work of our charity, Friends of Windmill Gardens. Milling session We’ll take a tour of the windmill, where you will see two sets of millstones – the original wind-powered machinery, and the smaller stones installed by the Ashby family in 1902 that were driven by steam. After learning a bit about the mill’s history we’ll use these same stones to turn organic grain into wholemeal flour. You’ll be guided through the milling process with our lead miller, learning the techniques we use to ensure our flour is of the best quality. Baking session Using our windmill’s stone ground flour you’ll learn to make bread with our expert baker Harvey of Toad Bakery, Camberwell. You’ll be in a small group so lots of time and opportunity to learn tips and new skills to take home with you.
