Again hard to tell from this picture, but if it?s a case that you can rattle the bottom sash in and out towards the outside then the inside staff beads need to be set tighter to sash. It does look from your picture that some type of draught proofing has been installed on the meeting rail so if you are getting bad draught from the two ends where cut short then you could ask them to replace draught strip with longer strip spanning from left parting bead to right parting bead ( that?s the two beads that separate the two sashes , but in fairness to them it?s very hard to tell from this one pic. Maybe you could upload quick phone video demonstrating what?s happening.

Hard totell from picture but does look like meeting rail chamfer has been trimmed back too far on style and from parting bead. You should be able to move sash very slightly left to right but not a lot . My Experience , 30 years Joinery and Draught proofing sash windows

One again just to thank everyone for their support. This complaint is still ongoing, but I have since last writing lost both my Dad and then my brother , so have not had all the time needed to keep fighting this. I have not and will not give up. I contacted Michael after seeing recommendations for his work on here. My wife who was unwell had a favorite leather reclining chair, unfortunately, the metal Frame had snapped rendering it useless, however after speaking to Michael and describing the problem, he reassured me that he could repair it without any problem.
