  1. A warm recommendation for John Marx who provided stellar kitchen fitting services back in June. John and Gaby (his partner) were super helpful, providing great advice and solutions in the planning phase. They were incredibly accommodating with my technical/ budget constraints and timings. The work was carried out as per original timings and to very high standards, with minimum disruption caused and all finished within time allocated. John and Gaby were professional and flexible throughout and are truly lovely, super friendly people. Good local traders are hard to come by and they truly fit the bill! Recommending them warmly, they are top-notch! They can be contacted by email:[email protected]
  2. Looking for Electrician qualified to install Envirovent Extractor Fan in Bathroom. Please PM me if you are experienced/qualified or know someone who is. Thanks
  3. The Guardian published the Which assessment in this article: https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/oct/30/face-mask-test-which-best-at-limiting-spread-covid
  4. The owner of the small independent shop next to Funeral Directors next to the Plough is the only one I have seen in the area who wears gloves and a mask. It's a very small shop so will be for basic supplies only. As of yesterday he had good coffee, rice and a small selection of fresh fruit and veg so it's a great option if you wish to top up basic supplies. He was closed today so I went to local Sainsbury's next door. There the staff wears no protection and doesn't respect social distancing AT ALL. The way the shop is laid out it's really hard to navigate without bumping into each other. Why when independent local shops are closing their doors or imposing a queueing system outside their shops - should one of the leading UK supermarket not instigate strict safety rules for their staff to follow?
  5. Apologies everyone for late reply. This is right at the top of Upland Road. If anyone is experiencing the same issue, send me a PM. Thanks!
  6. There is a dog barking non-stop in a garden on Upland Road, is anyone else hearing it? It's a reoccurring problem, and I am trying to identify where it lives so I can make owners aware of it. PM me if you prefer to. Many thanks
  7. Hi Ellie78 On the off-chance you might see my message - did you source someone good for the installation of you rubber flooring last year? I am looking for a recommendation Thanks Sylvie
  8. Try the St Christophers Hospice stall by the Plough up Lordship Lane, they have loads
  9. Hello, Anyone can recommend a good laminate flooring professional installer? I am looking for someone with experience and can provide references/ evidence of past jobs Thanks
  10. Does anyone know what's happened to Nunca's mural? It's been painted over in the past week and the vibrant queen bee and its hive have been replaced with... a brand new white wall. Anyone knows more? Seems a shame as it was a nice colourful and quirky touch on this part of ED.
  11. Thanks for this Poppy-Bees. May I ask which one you used and what area it was for? I intend to install it in living-room and hallway (heavy traffic) and need to ensure it is hard wearing enough without breaking the bank. Did you seal it afterwards as well? Many thanks!
  12. Hello, I am currently shopping around for cork flooring. I have located a few suppliers in West London but if anyone has found a good supplier in SE London and also (most importantly!) a reliable installer, would you be able to share the details with me please? Many thanks
  13. Hello I second mancity78 and nxjen, the garden center next to north dulwich station is great. really friendly and good selection. You can catch the 37 bus from nearby stop.
  14. Indeed a sad loss and another independent quirky place down the drain thanks to landlord's greediness. Anyone knows if the furniture man selling vintage stuff at the back will relocate locally?
  15. Hi Dulwich Gourmet You could try Townley Practice on Townley Road (on Lordship Lane towards the library). I have been this year for both dental work and to see a hygienist and I have found them professional and friendly. Good luck
