  1. IKEA Karlstad Footstool in kivik dark grey. In good used condition, so with a few marks from use. Photos below - it's not that patchy, I've just given it a wipe. New covers are still available and are machine washable - although I've not given that a try. Ideally collection from Bromley/BR2, but on certain days could be from SE23, just by the Horniman. £50 ONO
  2. IKEA Karlstad grey 2 seater sofa - in excellent condition. A great sofa, really sturdy and its easy enough to get replacement covers in different colours, if a change of colour scheme is required. Collection only from Hayes (BR2), Bromley. Would fit, with a few bits taken off, in a hatchback. £110 ONO
  3. 4 bedroom terraced house for rent in Westwood Park, Honor Oak, SE23 (rightmove.co.uk)

  5. Just wanted to add that Arran was great today - turned up when he said he would, within a couple of hours of calling him, got us out of trouble and all for a reasonable price too. Thank you.
  6. I can vouch for Nicci - of The Addressed - details below ....... https://addressed.ltd/#home
  7. We have built in wardrobes in one of our bedrooms that have been there forever with 3 sliding doors. Is there anyone who could overhaul them for us (but not rip them out and start again)?. The doors are very loose/wobbly in the runners, so not sure whether the runners need to be replaced and/or how easy (or not) it might be to replace the doors completely with something abit more up to date. It's a job to be tackled at the end of Jan'. Thanks
  8. Am starting to look into possible options for improving the insulation on our house. We already have a pretty well insulated loft and double glazing, but as with probably most of the house locally we have solid brick walls, rather than cavity walls, limiting our options for what is possible by way of wall insulation. Anyone have any experience or advice on the effectiveness of retrofitting internal wall insulation. We don't want to lose the brick fascia on the house, recroaching as little as possible on our internal space is obviously preferable and have also seen some horror stories about damp/condensation when lack of ventilation is a problem. Am not sure what to do for the best.
  9. Looking for a handy-man/women, with availability within the next couple of weeks, to repair/replace a couple of decking boards and then refinish/re-treat the whole area. Do PM me - if you think you can help. Thanks.

  11. We lived in one (behind Horniman Museum)a few years ago and are big fans of them. Flexible accommodation, lots of storage (I think, certainly compared to new builds and even better than the 30s semis - which tend to only have an understairs cupboard), easy to maintain/level rear gardens (we weren't/aren't big gardeners, usually off street parking and don't recall having any problem with noise from the neighbours - with a young family (like ours at the time) on one side and an elderly couple on the other.
  12. For what its worth - I think the lodger should have gone on 25/9 on the basis of both being given notice to move out BY 25/9 AND the 25/9 being the last day of her tenancy. Still being there on 26th of the month, is the 1st day of the start of the new period/month.
  13. Can anyone recommend someone able to repair a couple of edges of our block paved patio? The block paving companies only seem interested if we're considering riping the whole thing up and starting again and we're not up for that. Have a couple of photos of the type of thing I mean, but I can't seem to resize them to small enough to attach here.
  14. And another recommendation for Paul ... quick, easy, minimal fuss, very accommodating. I'm sure we'll end end up using his services again and would have no hesitation in doing so.
