  1. I?m very happy to recommend Des. He is a genuinely nice guy and takes real pride in his work. Des painted our hall, living room, bedrooms and bathroom before Christmas. It was really important we got it done ahead of people arriving and Des got it done on time and we are really pleased with the finish. Des did a few extras to ensure a great look and always did great prep to protect floors, carpets and surfaces. We will be asking Des back to do our kitchen and hope that he can do some external work too.
  2. I have a sticker for garden waste big brown bin but no new kitchen waste small brown bin which we ordered.
  3. Hi Foxy, I think it was a requirement to display near the entry to the premises but maybe no longer. I think the legislation now talks about not misleading at the point of sale. Obviously very helpful for a passing punter if they have an idea before they go in and fill their faces though.
  4. I?ve commuted by bike from ED to Leatherhead for the last 4 years or so. Yet to find a really good route... I tend to go Tulse Hill, Streatham, Mitcham, Rose Hill, Sutton, Cheam, Epsom. I get off the South Circular asap after Tulse Hill and use back roads (Hillside Rd and Amesbury Ave) to Streatham High Rd. Then A216 and A217 to Mitcham then keep on London Road to Rose Hill to Sutton. Reasonably quiet route from Sutton (I head up the High Street and then right at the rail station (mulgrave road)to East Ewell along Sandy Lane and Northey Ave. Then you are onto the A24 to Epsom. It is reasonably hilly and otherwise busy with traffic and there are lots of traffic lights.
  5. Rafal has recently finished some work for us too and I am happy to recommend him. Rafal did some shelving and cupboards for us in our previous house and when we moved we got in touch with him again to do fitted cupboards and an under stair storage unit. We have been really happy with the quality of Rafal?s work and he has a keen eye for a spotless finish. He always keeps the place clean and often just works at his workshop so he doesn?t always have to be in the house. Rafal has been working in the area for a good time now and continues to impress us; he?s back in a few weeks to do some bespoke bathroom units.
  6. The web address they actually give is www.christmastreeaid.org.uk , not .co.uk as suggested by the OP - might explain some of the issues the OP is having trying to find out about them. There's not much at the website but it does work if you go to the address that they actually give on their huge banner...
  7. I would take down the hedge. Bike nicking scrotes will look in every front garden. If the hedge is there it will not stop the scrotes finding your bike but it will give them something nice to hide behind whilst they go to work with their powered cutters. If you have a quick release front wheel I would suggest taking that inside. The scrotes like to ride off on the bikes they nick as this doesn't raise much suspicion. Walking along with a bike with one wheel will likely cause people to take a second look. Your current arrangement also only requires the scrotes to make one cut or break one lock. I'd also put a wall anchor in place with a second d lock from a different manufacturer. Make sure that wall anchor is secured by tamper proof bolts. My final line of defence is a sort of botched alarm. I have an inexpensive shed door alarm and have attached one of the magnetic contacts to my bike frame. The siren and other contact (which is on a loose wire) are hidden away. When I lock my bike I simply place the magnetic contacts together. The hope is this will not be seen and if a scrote moves the bike out of its location then the contact will be broken and the alarm goes off. Might be a bit late but again should at least draw attention. Other thoughts are to make sure you have a note of the serial number and register that with Immobilise.
