  1. Relax it's not a dark kitchen, it's where they sign up and train their new recruits
  2. Does anyone know of a company that would be able to give advice / quotes on fitting a curtain rail to an awkward bay window space. None of the off the shelf solutions seem to be appropriate, so would like a company that could come take a look.
  3. Another recommendation. Really prompt, friendly service and made excellent suggestions as to work that needs to be carried out. Would recommend them to anyone - will get them back to do some rewiring soon.
  4. Hi - is anyone able, or know anyone able, to fit an extractor hood over a kitchen island. I can't find anyone who seems to be able to, and it is heavy so reluctant to do it myself. Link to the sort of fan below. Electrics are all ready, so just needs attaching to ceiling. http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/household-appliances/cooking/hoods/baumatic-pv372ss-island-cooker-hood-stainless-steel-10026072-pdt.html?gclid=CjwKEAjw7O6vBRDpi7O-8OWSkwESJACNFsgxRR_iGb01AlCVo2jwPOyshYuWineb_GDbXZ941ZYVNxoCUifw_wcB&srcid=198&cmpid=ppc~gg~~~Exact&mctag=gg_goog_7904&s_kwcid=AL!3391!3!55135012764!!!g!119296590804!&ef_id=Vdb0LQAABRBcjRjH:20150918090326:s
  5. Sorry to add another potential source of angst into the mix for some of you, but you don't know how lucky you are down in East Dulwich. Up in Forest Hill we get the Heathrow planes as they bank around on a westerly wind, but no respite as with the switch to Easterly winds comes the arrival of the City airport planes, which though often smaller, fly in much lower, and are consequently twice as noisy in my neck of the woods. They fly in over the highest point for miles around, just so that any noise disturbance is maximised. The noise is much more distant down in E Dulwich/Peckham, i find (though still annoying for some, i'm sure)
  6. Another recomendation for Steve, who did some awkward plastering for me at really short notice, quick clean and a good price. Would happily recommend.
  7. Yes, another strong recommendation for Niko, who came and fixed my leak and plumbed in a washing machine on Friday night, finishing up around 1am! He was happy to offer advice on the best value way of doing things and obviously happy to stay until the job was all finished. Would, and hopefully will, happily use again
  8. Hello - does anyone have a recommendation for someone to fit a cat flap, probably through a wall (it's either that or a double glazed door, think a tunnel one through the wall might be easier). Grateful for any recommendations
  9. Sure the new gym is fine but, as before the refit, the gormless staff mean I won't be joining. Was a member of harris gym for a while but the inability of the staff to even man the front desk, refil the water, replace the towels, eventually drove me to a chain gym. This time I got a text offering membership without admin fee, went to claim it and join and was told I was a day late. Assumed they might still want my 50 quid a month or whatever and so would honour the offer, but of course it didn't occur to the dopey receptionists this might be a good idea and so when I said I didn't want to pay the admin fee they simply said 'oh, ok, bye" and went back to their gossiping. So I went back to the chain gym.
