  1. Roger and his son dealt with our mouse problem really efficiently. They were able to come round very quickly, they were really friendly and helpful. They offered a nice guarantee on the work. Their experience and professionalism showed.
  2. Another recommendation for Sarah! I passed my test on Monday (with no faults!), having failed in my early 20s and ignored driving for at least a decade after! Sarah was really patient, totally helped me get over my nerves and reminded me to breathe. She was great at teaching me how to parallel park and other moves I hadn't ever really learned properly. Sarah is also an absolute pleasure to spend time in a car with, which you definitely want if you're going to learn! I definitely recommend giving her a call.
  3. Little Village Southwark is another worthy cause: https://littlevillagehq.org/southwark/ It's like a foodbank, but for clothes, toys and equipment for babies and children.
  4. Hi - you might try the Family section for some more responses, but there is loads out there! I'm just back to work after mat leave (so a woman!). Try the Hoop app to find stuff near you. I don't know if there is anything dad-specific during the week, there are classes and stay and plays at the weekends, but there are dads at every class. Some suggestions are Glengall Wharf Gardens on a Monday, Besson Street stay and play on a Monday and Wednesday, Tiny Gym, swimming, nimble tots. Also the Whats On section of this Forum. Have a great time with your daughter, the area is fantastic for things to do!
  5. You queue together. My husband travels to the States on his US passport and mine is EU. Before our daughter was born we used to queue separately, and he could be waiting an extra hour for me! A couple of years ago the immigration guard told us we could queue together, which we have done since, no problems at all. We usually go in the US queue, even though only one of the three of us has a US passport. Best of luck travelling alone with the little one!
  6. Another big recommendation for Patryk from me. He has just finished work on our terrace, which included building fencing, clearing off a huge amount of detritus, jetwashing and laying grass. Patryk listened to what I wanted and provided sound advice as to what was achievable. He was reliable, reasonably priced and professional. Our space is difficult to access, and the work was so tidy and clean! We are really happy with the quality of the work, and delighted that a basically unusable space has been transformed completely! I will be recommending him to everyone.
  7. Interesting article for those who buy season tickets with credit cards: https://www.theguardian.com/business/2017/jan/17/southern-rail-credit-card-refund-season-ticket-amex
  8. Just before Christmas, Matthew and his team redecorated several rooms in our house. This is the third time he has done work for us. As with the previous two times the work was to a high standard, reasonably priced and the house was left clean and tidy each day. Matthew is very good at giving advice on decorating options for awkward corners, and he and his team can do virtually anything you ask of them. Highly recommended!
  9. Tomskip, the Liverpool Street one is at the Broadgate Circle end of the arcade next to Monsoon, if that's of any use to you. I had a little difficulty finding it myself this morning, it was just two people in t-shirts, not a lot of signage. There are some email addresses from the link posted by POUS, but I can't find anything on Twitter or similar.
  10. Accommo is pretty limited in the area. I think there are a few places in Camberwell. Lots of AirBnB which is what I use when we have more visitors than we can manage!
  11. Thanks for highlighting this Matthew, a really neighbourly thing to try to help someone out. I've donated to the gofundme page. Complete disclosure: Matthew has done some work for me (although he wouldn't recognise the username!) so anyone can see my older recommendations for his work. Otherwise no connection!
  12. Adding my recommendation to Matthew and his team. He did some plastering, painting and tiling to finish off our kitchen and we love it. He also sorted out quite a few strange things we had - exposed pipes or unnecessary panels - he understood immediately what we wanted done with them and knew where to get on with things and when to give us a call to discuss. He made the whole process really easy. I've recommended him to my neighbours and we're going to have him back to sort out another few rooms before Christmas! Post edited to add: Matthew has since been back to strip, sand and varnish some wooden floorboards in one room. They were in a sorry state before, and I can't believe it's the same floor now! A really great job, reasonably priced and the place was left perfectly tidy afterwards.
  13. Wanted ? for hire/ to borrow for a weekend - film projector, outdoor film screen (not massive ? 4m x 2.5m), and PA system, for screening Blu-ray film outdoors to a small audience (c. 50 people). We'll be happy to arrange pick up and return at your convenience. This is for the Limes Walk 2015 Summer Fete, a community event which will include activities, cakes, a BBQ and fun for all - anyone who can help is of course welcome to join us on the day! 31 August, at Limes Walk, SE15 3LJ. Limes Walk TRA
  14. Another recommendation for Steve here. He called before arriving early last Friday and was great with our washing machine. He previously fixed our dishwasher when we thought it was dead. I wouldn't call anyone else!
