  1. Hi Alice, I had a great experience with Zoe from The Hypnobirthing Place. I had had a hospital birth with my first and was seeking a gentler approach for my second birth. She was great and helped put my partner and I at ease and in a better mind frame about labour etc. My second daughter was born at home after a 2 hour labour and it was a much happier experience. Her details are all at www.hypnobirthingplace.com. Good luck! Tanya
  2. I'd be interested in hearing recommendations too please! Bump bump.
  3. Has anyone had their victoria bay window rebuilt? If so, I'd be after some recommendations for a builder who could undertake this job. We have a victorian house in a non-conservation area and we need to rebuild the bay window. At some point in the 70s the original one was ripped out and replaced with pretty grim bay, with poor double glazing, no cill, no stonework and a dodgy roof. We'd like to restore the bay window to match the rest of the houses on the street. I don't know if we'd need a stonemason or if a builder could do a sympathetic job. Any improvement on the current window would be a blessing. If anyone can help with advice on where to start, or even contact of a builder that could undertake this work, I'd be very grateful. Thanks, Tanya
  4. I'd like to recommend a carpenter who's recently done some work for me. He's called Malcolm and I was really impressed with his work. I asked him to make a number of open cabinets and shelves for a laundry/utility room and the results were great. He worked with me to make the most of the space and suggested clever alterations to my existing plans that made a lot of sense. The finish and attention to detail were great, and he was very clean and tidy. All this for what I believe to be very reasonable rates. He has a website www.weirwoodwork.com, or he can be contacted on 07745 553232. This is genuine I promise! You're welcome to come round and see his handiwork if you'd like :-)
  5. My husband phoned Addison Lee when I got to the stage of labour where I needed to go to the hospital. He pre-warned them of what was happening and they arrived promptly. The driver was pretty good about it all and tried his best to ignore the yelps coming from the back seat. I don't remember too much about it all but I think my husband was impressed by their service. I think I may have scared the living daylights out of the poor driver though. He definitely got a tip. We also have had good (but non labour) experience with Dulwich Cars. Friendly, reliable and prompt.
