  1. Another recommendation for Down the Drain, good on the phone, came round when they said they would and fixed the problem nice and quickly. Many thanks.
  2. Hello, Looking for any recommendations for someone to properly mount a TV to a plasterboard wall. Pretty sure I could do it myself but got kids and it's just not worth the risk making a hash of it. Thanks.
  3. Hello, Does anyone know of anyone good who could a) mount a TV (40") onto a plasterboard wall, and then b) look at running the cables behind the wall etc.? Both appear to be straightforward, but would want someone who knows what they're doing as it would be very visible. Thanks.
  4. Thanks for all your responses, will get back to people, but not looking for any more, thank you.
  5. Hello, I'm looking for a plasterer to finish off a repaired wall ready for painting. A door handle went through the wall, which was then repaired but never finished off - we wanted to roll that into a bigger job that never happened. The area is about 60x60cm (see photo) and needs sanding and smoothing down ready to be painted. I know it's a small job but I don't have the tools and would want it done properly, and could be a good job if you've finished early for an afternoon or something. We're near Dulwich College, and please either PM or reply here if interested, thanks.
  6. Hello, I'm looking for any recommendations for a carpenter or similar who can build a child's bed at the end of a narrow bedroom where a standard single won't fit. Basically a wide, low alcove cupboard you can sleep on. Would be wall to wall in a room 183cm wide, 50cm ish high, and 90cm deep for a shorter single bed mattress. Would need to be sturdy enough for a child up to potentially adult, with cupboards and/or drawers underneath. Rounded edges where possible. Exact spec to be agreed on when we have some options. Also as it's in a child's room would need to be left tidy and safe at end of any working day. If you need any more info please ask, and thanks, Phil
  7. Another recommendation for Andy, came round on a Saturday at very short notice to repair a kitchen sink I'd taken apart - and couldn't get back together again. Found the problems quickly got a temporary fix in and came back to finish the job working round our availability. Good guy, and would definitely use again. His number is 07983 688451
  8. I'm looking for any recommendations or offers for someone to fix some plaster damage. A door swung open and the back of a Yale lock went into the plaster there's a 5-7cm big dent in the board, but there's about a 15cm diameter area around it which feels a bit loose. See photo, but it's not completely clear. It's in a prominent position, so don't want to try and bodge it myself. Looking for a repair asap, so any recommendations or offers please either PM or reply here, thank you.
  9. Hello, Writing to know if anyone has any recommendations for a comfy chair to be used mainly for breast feeding. Sounds simple but our son is 7 months and 11kg and long with it, so feeding him at night without putting your back out or it being a struggle to get up without waking him if he goes off. Tried a few but no joy so far. Thanks.
  10. Had Steve clean our sofas, carpets and decking end of April, and he did a great job. Managed to get three years worth of dirt and jeans marks and general toddler abuse out of a cream sofa and cream carpets as well as clearing the decking up nicely. Definite recommendation, and would use again next time we need things done.
  11. Hello, I'm looking for quotes to get a lawn re-turfed following the storms and it being trampled after some fences came down. It's approx 25 square metres in size, in an already defined hexagonal shape. Work would involve clearing the area, laying the new turf and tidying up. Thinking of having this done asap, so if you're interested in providing a quote please let me know either by reply or by PM, thank you. Phil
  12. Hello, After getting some fences replaced I've got three lumps of concrete left in my garden which need removing. The two big ones are (roughly) 30cm x 30cm x 50cm. I've tried smashing them up but it's taking too long, so now looking for someone to come and get rid of them. Should be a small but quick job. If you're interested in the work or have any questions please let me know as soon as possible either by replying here or by PM, thank you. Phil
  13. Another person with fences down here, and also looking for some good recommendations. Lost 4 or 5 posts that looked rotten, and hopefully can rescue at least some of the panels. Any recommendations would be appreciated, thank you. Phil
  14. Ate in Rocca two weekends ago, it was just what you'd expect from an average chain Italian themed restaurant. Nothing special, but could have been worse. Also if you're paying ?8.35 for a tuna salad, we expected more than a salad with an upturned tin of tuna - still in the tuna can shape - on the top. Pizza was ok nothing more, and pasta was distinctly average. Just an opinion. Try it, it might have been an off day and you might like it, but I won't be going back.
