  1. Our builder has bodged our EPDM roof and I'm looking for someone that really knows their stuff to come and look at it, diagnose the issue and possibly rectify. Anyone know an expert working in the area? Thx in advance.
  2. I need 2 x kettlebells collected from a gym at: Unit 4 Royce Road, Fleming Way, Crawley, West Sussex, RH10 9NX But it's too much for me on my bike (using the train)! If anyone might be passing through in the next 10 days or so I'm happy to contribute towards petrol money. Best, Nick
  3. Whole box going as one lot. Must go today.
  4. Anyone got access to lifting gear? need to get a 180kg rooflight up 5 meters. help appreciated asap!
  5. We're doing a major renovation and need to change the location of our gas meter to outside and lay new gas pipe under the drive (it's currently very shallow and old). SGN are responsible for meters in SE22 but their lead times are 12 weeks. Can a third party do the work? Can anyone recommend someone? Btw - we're with Octopus Engery and energy suppliers can only move the meter itself 1 meter and on the existing wall. They cannot touch pipes etc. Any help - advise MUCH appreciated. Thx
  6. Thanks for this. Did you find them helpful? Worth the money?
  7. We're doing a major renovation to our home and it's an opportunity to install an entirely new heating system, insulation, windows, solar panels - the lot. I'm baffled by ground source heat pumps v gas v how insulated you can ever get a semi detached Victorian house with 1885 bricks as exterior walls?! Solar panels v how much roof space we'll have v how long we'll be staying at the property?? Interior wall insulation v 'cold' walls and 'warm' walls in the same room v condensation and black mould?? Feels like I could do with someone who really knows their stuff, knows current tariffs, subsidies etc and can give us a route map. Are there people that visit your property and advise? Seems so counterintuitive fitting a gad boiler these days. Or maybe not? Thx for any useful info.
  8. Think this is the right term. I’ve a bike pannier rack in it’s 15th year and in the spirit of repair, reuse, recycle - I think it needs a tiny spot weld to re fix a bar. It’s just broken free. Any help/advice much appreciated. Nick
  9. I've a Skoda estate running on 18 inch alloys - they came with the car and are probably too low profile. Either way, some of the tyres kept losing pressure so 2 months ago I had all new Michelin Cross climate tyres fitted at Kwikfit for ?400 and they're still loosing air! The mechanic said it might some something to do with the alloys and seal between the alloy rim and tyre. Does anyone know of a good, reliable place to get alloys checked over and repaired? And not too expensive! Many thanks, Nick
  10. Sounded like they were posties coming from elsewhere - to blitz the Xmas backlog. Apparently ED posties all got ?5k bonus to move to Peckham. I asked if the closure of Silvester Road caused the problem but was told it was the ED posties attitude. They?ve been taking huge amounts of sick leave and refusing to clear each other?s backlogs. That?s why the mail isn?t coming through. Sounds like a truly demotivated and dysfunctional workforce. The managers are aware of the situation but are completely ineffectual. It?s almost impossible (and very expensive) to dismiss posties - bar for theft and deserting your mail.
  11. I went into the Peckham collection branch today and a team are coming to clear the backlog next week - but then the problem will return. Apparently it?s stemming from very poor management and a rift between ED postie culture (lots of sick leave, poorly motivated and begrudging of the move to Peckham) and Peckham posties. Managers not managing properly, post left in the frames, workers not clearing others workers backlogs - sounds grim in there.
  12. I?ve got my elderly parents coming to stay in the East Dulwich area next weekend. My dad?s not a wheelchair user but he can?t manage stairs without handrails on both sides. And a wet room would be preferable for him. I?ve looked at airbnb but when you tick the ?accessibility? option there?s nothing available in the area at all. Premier Inn (Brixton) would do the job but it?s not really close and doesn?t have parking. Does anyone know of anywhere that might do the job?
