  1. Bracelet Found - Silver bracelet with light coloured stone found on Danby Street the morning of 24 May. Please message me if you think it is yours.
  2. Does anybody know where you might be able to get a 1950s New World cooker (S.4183) repaired / serviced? It has been tested and it is not leaking gas, and the hob is fine, but it has been condemed because the oven is omitting too much CO2. I'm quite attached to the cooker, so I've done a bite of reading on the internet which mentions clearing the component, but I'm not keen to do this myself. Any thoughts / recommendations greatly appreciated? Thanks
  3. Any luck? I too have a dehumdifier, which I'm looking to see about repairing. It's an EcoAir which all of the sudden just stopped working. The thing isn't even two years old (but outside the warranty) and has only been used in the winter months. I don't just want to bin it, but equally don't think it's worth it to spend ?60 plus return shipping to have EcoAir "repair" it. Thanks
  4. Thanks everyone for your posts. We would love to put double glazing in, but it just isn't in the budget at the moment. The condensation is on every window, but thankfully none of the walls seem damp and with the exception of the bathroom, where we've just had the flat roof overhead done, there is no evidence of condensation/mould either. From your posts, it seems like laundry is the cause, as we seem to have it on the go all the time, so getting a dehumidifier seems like our best option - any recommendations?
  5. We've been suffering from excessive condensation for several winters now and are not sure what to do about it. It?s a 1st and 2nd flat in a Victorian terrace with single glazed windows and an extractor fan in the bathroom. The internet suggests it could be from lack of ventilation, and we try leaving windows open a bit, but with a 9 month old baby this tends to be tricky and it doesn?t really seem to help much. We are looking into getting a dehumidifier, but they are kind of pricey and I understand they use loads of energy and can be quite loud. Any thoughts, ideas, suggestions please?
  6. Hello, I am expecting my first child in just over two weeks and am very keen to avoid using disposable nappies if possible. I have done a lot of research on reusable nappies and seem to think I know what I want to use - one size (birth to potty), two-part/shaped nappy in cotton. But, I have seen it recommended over and over that you should try different types out before committing. Trial kits actually seem expensive and without using disposables, can anybody advise me how this might work in reality? thanks.
