  1. I think the old Mother Goose on Upland Road might have space - now called Purple Jay I think. Mine went there years ago so can?t really recommend but worth a look. Little Jungle and My Favourite Nursery also worth looking at but always have long waiting lists. It might depend on whether you can be flexible with days.
  2. Have you had a Covid vaccine recently? I was reliably informed it can affect your cycle today which I hadn?t heard before!
  3. Hi everyone, I am a lecturer who lives locally and two of my students are doing an online research project looking at the impact of Covid on different people. They are really struggling to get a wide range of people to take part so would be very grateful if you could take a few minutes to fill in the survey using the link below. All the details and how to ask questions are on the first page: https://reading.onlinesurveys.ac.uk/ww-sc-covid-19-survey Many thanks!
  4. I?m working on a project looking at healthy eating strategies in nurseries. We?re looking to talk to nursery professionals (managers or staff) about some resources that have been developed for use in preschools. Taking part would involve looking at the resources and then having a 20-30 min online chat about them. ?50 voucher of your choice to say thank you. Please could anyone who is interested pm me and I will give you more details. Many thanks in advance!
  5. I don?t think current guidance allows for this, although could all change by Nov of course. A recent enquiry I made even before the 6 rule came in found that most party venues weren?t taking bookings. I hope you find a solution!
  6. I?ve just done this but at no point was I asked for my details so not sure how you can be entering people into a prize draw?
  7. Nannypaye is a really helpful organisation to investigate all this. Typically, the nanny?s rate is net and then you pay all the tax on top so it?s important to be clear about the arrangements. If you go to the Nannypaye website, there is a helpful calculator to help you work it all out. They also do a booklet you can order that explains it all, plus holiday, sick pay and Nanny share arrangements.
  8. Hi all, I have a very lovely Masters student who has had to change her research project due to lockdown and is struggling to recruit participants for a survey. She is looking for women who have had a baby in the last six months to fill in a quick survey about breastfeeding and the experience of having a baby. If you think you could help, please click on the link below and it will take you to more info and then the questions. https://forms.gle/DoT8MR96kiys1DB8A Many thanks in advance!
  9. Hi, I can give some insight into MG Upland. Pm me if you would like to discuss.
  10. Posting as admin: suggest you start a new thread as the title of this one is misleading as to what the post is about.
  11. You should have received an email by now. I would suggest following up if you haven?t.
  12. I fear this won?t work with several monitors at a time - past experiences with friends with different kids in different rooms with different monitors in the same house/hotel suggest the monitors start to interfere with one another. Worth a try though and you may find some specific monitors work better than others in this sense. Good luck xx
  13. Admin posting: suggest you also post in COVID 19 thread. :)
  14. You?re not too late! Great idea to register before baby is born (which I appreciate feels quite ridiculous) and also to register with a few but most people I know have found things slot into place. I registered my youngest about halfway through her pregnancy. Our first choice didn?t offer until 18m but other places came up within my year of going back to work. I have three children and have been through three different local nurseries in the area so happy to talk specifics if you want to PM me. It may depend on your flexibility too - ie could you take days of the week offered and re-jig your days? On the flip side some prioritise people who want a full time place so worth investigating policies of the ones you?re interested in. Also worth considering nanny share or childminder for alternatives if you struggle to find a place bit def don?t give up!
