I don't normally do this but I went for lunch at this cute restaurant on Friday- its veggie, I am not! In fact I am a big meat eater but trying to be a bit better on that front - amazing food, incredible flavours and good value -all fresh and cooked to order. It is a lovely place, great food and vibe and everyone who seems to work and run it are young and friendly - it would be great support it- a little gem so I thought I would spread the local word!

We are based in ED, and are looking for a reliable self employed local handy man, or the like, to come and do two small but much needed jobs for us. My husband could do these but we don't have don't have tall ladders and the job will definitely be require them. The jobs are: (1)cut down some new/ skinny (but high up) new growth branches and (2) affix some new anti- bird perching spikes along our side return (as some have of it has fallen down and the birds are perching on these bits and creating a mess). I wanted to share the details of a great carpenter that we have just used, a real craftsman- and that is a truly rare thing these days! Amazing attention to detail, in fact Jake was redoing the work of an awful carpenter we got of the forum! Hi there I took your advice and contacted your cleaner- I have spoken to her about doing a weekly clean for us- unfortunately she never turned up!!! when I chased her today - having waited in for her with a small baby she told me she was making her way over from Lewisham- I have now been waiting for her for nearly 4 hours. Sorry to say i think my experiences with Mimi differ greatly from yours - which are clearly great- mine have been awful!

I have used Iona Williams upholstery service, based in ED and I can thoroughly recommend it- Iona is a lovely bubbly person and it is a complete pleasure dealing with her. She also really knows her stuff, and has given new life to some well loved items!! I can thoroughly recommend my hairdresser Claire - she has cut and coloured my hair for years and now she cuts the whole family's hair. She is a really good cutter and with children now in tow it makes a massive difference that she can come to the house- as she is a mobile hair dresser! She is a truly lovely girl and a great laugh- so she is lovely person to have in your home- I can't recommend her highly enough. Claire has been hairdressing for over a decade locally and some of you might recognise her from when you have had your children's hair cut, however she has worked in local salons and barbers so she can go it all!!
