  1. They're still thriving today and a bit bigger too 😀
  2. is that the one on Lordship Lane next to the charity shop? I noticed it was closed the other day at an unusual time.
  3. There are, but you can pay for those 2 hours by phone. If you park before 12 and not sure how long you'll be, take a note of the location and phone number then ring if you end up needing to.
  4. We've been taking ours there since they were little and it is nice, although watch out for slippery mud underfoot!
  5. I once saw someone going into the British Legion on Barry Road with a snooker cue.
  6. I was worried about possible financial problems for them too. It really is left oddly in the middle of work, especially with the new tiles in the grocery section. You have to go uphill to go onto them! They must be a lot more expensive than just the lino from before and they have a lot more potential for trips and falls and will have to be regularly maintained to prevent that.
  7. Apologies if this is about something else, I didn't know about this thread or the CPZ (even though it turns out I live in the Dulwich Hill area). On Thursday a poster called MrsZ made a new thread called 'No Southwark wide CPZ after all' where they shared an email saying that Dulwich Hill isn't going to have a CPZ at the moment and that councillors apologize for getting it wrong. Apologies also if I've summarised that incorrectly, I can't flick between this and that thread to check. Anyway the thread is on this 'Roads and transport ' page to look at.
  8. I live in that zone (just checked Southwark's map) but didn't get a consultation or the letter you've posted today! I wonder how they ensure that all addresses are covered and what's gone wrong?
  9. In Sainsbury's British Legion usually have a table at the front of the shop. I haven't been there recently so don't know if they're doing it this year. I imagine the BL at 97 Barry Road sells them. According to Google maps it's open every afternoon and evening. If you're going into town, on Thursday there was a selection of uniformed people from all 3 armed services selling at Victoria station.
  10. I've just seen a pair of youngish looking Egyptian Geese walking on the common (opposite Cafe G). I wonder if they're siblings from the last brood or a couple.
  11. I just received this clarification: "we recently told you we're visiting East Dulwich Library. We're sorry if this caused confusion - we'll be at Grove Vale Library every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 10am to 5pm (closed 1pm to 1.30pm). Although there's no cash service, we can help you with your everyday banking needs. You can just drop in for a chat when we're open, or search 'Find Barclays' to get directions or to book an appointment. Your Barclays team"
  12. I've just received this announcement from Barclays Bank: 'we're now visiting East Dulwich Library every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 10am to 5pm (closed 1pm to 1.30pm). Although there's no cash service, we can help you with your everyday banking needs. You can just drop in for a chat when we're open, or search 'Barclays branch finder' to get directions or to book an appointment. Your Barclays team' I imagine they mean Dulwich library. Hope this is useful to someone. Thank you for checking branch finder. I've changed the name of the thread to say Grove Vale Library.
  13. Get a bus to East Dulwich Station, then walk up Melbourne Grove, take the first on the right into Jarvis Road. It's a cul-de-sac with a school at the end, but at the end there is a footpath off to the left which leads into the car park of Tessa Jowell health centre. It's still a way if you have trouble walking, but might be the closest bus stop.
  14. It's a long shot, but is anyone on the 63 going to kings cross now. Would have left ED around 7am, so quite close to the terminus by now. If so, please could you keep an eye out for a pale grey school sweatshirt with a round, dark blue badge stitched on the front left. Thanks 👍
