  1. ...Don't want to count any chickens, but the yellow signs all along the north end of Lyndhurst Way seem to suggest resurfacing might happen next week... (whoop!)
  2. Single silver Yale key on a worn amber-coloured carabiner, found at 3pm towards the south end of the Rye. Let me know if it's yours. Jane

  4. This leak has been bubbling away for at least a week, and after TW had visited to dig up the road a few days ago, there was a very deep flood across the road. Yesterday morning (9.15am) I came off my bicycle on the sheet ice there - very low speed but now got a stonking great bruise. Luckily the traffic around was also also going slowly, so I picked myself up and walked around it.
  5. Paul was indeed missing a leg. The reason I posted the message was that the original incident happened before Christmas, then yesterday I saw another ambulance picking him up, and I've seen him on LL at least once in the meantime, so I wondered if knowing his address might avoid an unnecessary 999 call in future. From the brief conversation I had with him before Christmas, I can see that he does have full mental capacity, particularly knowing exactly where his bottle was despite being out of his chair. When I said 'disorientated', I was politely trying to say smashed off his face. Jenny.d, you sound like you know him well - can you advise who to call in future, rather than an ambulance?
  6. Does anyone know of a residential care home with a "...yellow door and a wheelchair ramp...", for disabled/vulnerable adults in or near ED? Called an ambulance (at the police's advice) for a disorientated chap called Paul, who'd fallen out of his wheelchair in a bus stop on LL and couldn't remember where he lived - except for the above hazy description. Any ideas?
  7. Hi CeeCee123, The Albany in Deptford is a short walk from both Deptford and New Cross overground stations, as well as lots of bus routes. It has a large garden (with chickens) and has just been awarded a gold award by Attitude is Everything, for being an inclusive, accessible venue for people with disabilities. There are lots of different sized rooms you can hire, with catering and music options too. Best wishes, Jane
  8. They're not quite 135cm tall yet, more like 130ish so would need something; thanks for the advice sunbob, very useful.
  9. Can anyone advise on where to get car seats for two 9year-olds (not mine) for not a lot of money? I'm collecting them and their mum from Sunderland, after a funeral next weekend, and would appreciate some pointers. Thanks, Jane
  10. After making a bit of a fuss over the hefty ginger cat in the edt last night, we were rewarded with a juicy little mouse plopped down at our feet after a short game of keepy-uppy. Felt so special, just thought I'd share...
  11. Can I recommend AndyMan Services AKA Spoiltdog - 02086702227 and 07564 194363
  12. Hi Sarieg, I have used Andrew Brock to look after my car for the last 5 years or so, and I can't recommend him enough. He is absolutely fantastic with the mechanics, as well as being realistic with the timescale of the work & the price and he's a true gent. He has never suggested that I buy things that the car doesn't need, and will recommend another specialist garage if that is what is required. After being fleeced by other garages, he has utterly restored my faith in car repair mechanics.
  13. Yes Christmas does suck! January is definitely my favourite time of year because it's furthest away from silly season. Only just read the post so missed the drink, but hope it happened and that you met some interesting folk...
