  1. I did think the helicopter might be linked to the Kingswood Estate stabbing last night? https://southwarknews.co.uk/news/crime/update-twelve-people-arrested-over-kingswood-estate-stabbing/
  2. I've got a bag of useful things I'm trying to give away on the classified page, but gaining no traction. Would be a shame for it to go to waste! Please let me know if interested x /viewtopic.php?t=2236089
  3. "The court heard Mrs Ranford had sought to avoid the ?enormous costs? of a trial and offered her neighbours ?13,000 to settle the case earlier, but it had been refused." Well, there you go. Sounds like an expensive lesson was learnt. Having also been taken to court by a neighbour for completely spurious reasons, I can understand a little how Mrs Ranford feels. However, she still needs to pay 20% of her legal fees which could well end up being more than the amount she offered to settle. What a waste of time and money.
  4. has anyone got a big cage?? Would be so nice if the family were reunited. Would the sanctuary not accept the mother and youngsters?
  5. Noted, thanks! 6. Luca's on North Cross Road. Excellent food, great friendly service. It's a real gem.
  7. Oh how sad. We regularly see/saw that cat when walking back from nursery. What a dangerous and heartless motorist.
  8. I'm glad to hear your dog is feeling better. There's a sickness bug going round, so many dogs have had it!
  9. Soccer Stars Football Academy run sessions on Saturday mornings, as well as during the school holidays. They're based on Peckham Common (parallel to the playground) on Saturdays and take ages 3 upwards. The coaches are very friendly and knowledgeable. 07522 425 931
  10. I think it is morally bankrupt and sets a dangerous precedent. It should be up to parents what is injected into their children, particularly when it comes to experimental therapies that have no long term data, and whose risk profile is greater than that of the disease they purport to protect against. https://blogs.bmj.com/bmj/2021/07/13/covid-19-vaccines-for-children-hypothetical-benefits-to-adults-do-not-outweigh-risks-to-children/
  11. Heather is by far the best cat sitter we have ever used. I would not hesitate to recommend her and have used her many times to care for our cat. The care and attention she gives our boy is second to none. All the time we were away we received regular updates with beautiful pictures of our precious moggy. We felt very happy and secure in the knowledge that he was being looked after incredibly well. As well as many years of experience with cats, Heather is also a feline behaviourist and super knowledgeable. Cats are her passion and love, which really shows through in the quality of care she provides, and the relaxed manner in which our cat greets us upon our return.
  12. That was rather rude, and completely inaccurate. Average life expectancy was lower in previous centuries because of the high rates of infant mortality, deaths during childbirth and from acute diseases and infections (this is by no means an exhaustive list). Those surviving to early adulthood greatly increased their likelihood of living a longer life. Don't confuse life expectancy - which is largely influenced by environment - with lifespan, which has changed a lot less than you'd expect. Interesting article by the BBC here. Age alone cannot account for the diseases that were basically unheard of 150 years ago. Fun fact: Type 2 Diabetes mellitis was previously called 'adult onset diabetes', until children started developing it. Fatty liver disease was something that only affected alcoholics, and cancer and heart disease - which are presenting in younger and younger people were extremely rare. I'll repeat my message "just eat real food" and leave it at that (happy to talk over PM though). If anyone's interested in learning how it all went so terribly wrong, here's an exquisitely well researched and written book by the author Nina Teicholz :) Peckhampam Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > What Alice said. 13. There's nothing wrong with fat from natural sources, like animals and dairy. Humans have been consuming them for thousands of years. We only became unhealthy when we started adding in industrial seed oils, ultra refined grains and sugar. The BHF are quoting outdated and inaccurate diet dogma. The dietary fat guidelines that influenced our own were not based on any real scientific evidence, and precipitated the explosion of obesity and chronic disease. Eat like your great great grandparents did, or better still, their grandparents. Eat real food, in as close to its natural state as possible. Think about it logically, meat and cheese are not new things, chronic disease is. 14. Dietary cholesterol has zero effect on serum (blood) cholesterol. Enjoy your cheese! legalalien Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > That's not good news for local cheese fans with > high cholesterol levels (me). > > > Metallic Wrote: > -------------------------------------------------- > ----- > > There is a cheese shop opening next to Au Ciel > in > > Dulwich Village.
