Immigrants with or without children start work and paying direct and indirect taxes without having had the benefit of education and health care and therefore over their life time make a larger contribution to our society than you. The Boat that Rocked. I quite enjoyed it though in terms of an historical archive it was rubbish but gave a feel for the era which I missed being too young. The Caroline support group have nothing to do with it and distance themselves from it but the comparison is obvious. I heard a debate on the radio last week about how modern pop videos are very sexual and sexualize young people and I remember the same being said of the Rolling Stones and Bill Haley & the Comets and also Elvis so no change there. I think the image of stuffy government ministers was spot on. The government hated Radio Caroline because they couldn?t control it. Young people now know more than we did and that?s no bad thing. I remember asking an older cousin what sex was and being slapped about the head and told never to use ?that word? again. In the End Caroline became an album station in the middle to late seventies and was brilliant, apart from the religious broadcasts they had to make to get some cash. When it was finally raided in 1989 by British and armed Dutch police, who stole their records and smashed up the transmitter equipment, in international waters, that was an act of sheer piracy. I am looking forward to hearing them again.

The Shawamreh family speak out, 13-28 June 2010 A UK tour organised by ICAHD UK Since 1967, Israel has demolished more than 24,000 Palestinian homes in the Occupied Territory and Gaza. Every year hundreds of Palestinians are forced from their homes, built on land they own. The Israeli government claims that these houses are illegal because they have been constructed without building permits. However, the Israeli authorities refuse to grant building permits to Palestinians. Salim and Arabiya Shawamreh have land in Anata and a home they cannot live in. To date, their home has been demolished four times and ICAHD Jerusalem has helped to rebuild it each time. In 2003 they named their home Beit Arabiya and dedicated it as a peace centre which is used for community projects, international meetings and events. Youssef Hamdan and his wife Ouda have four children Mohamed, Kassem, Saja and Hasma. Their home is just in front of the Wall in Anata, a Palestinian town near Jerusalem. It has been demolished twice, the last time was in 2008. This tour will also help raise funds towards rebuilding the Hamdan family?s home this summer. ICAHD is an Israeli peace and human rights organisation dedicated to ending the Occupation and achieving a just peace between Israelis and Palestinians.

Made by Delia Derbyshire in the BBC radiophonic workshop in 1963. All electronic but no modern synthesisers it was fantastic. Anyone else remember the BBC radiophonic workshop? For years I thought the bass was real.
