Just about jet off (!) on first solo (ie me plus baby) flight - only to Edinburgh so not v far afield! Anyway just getting buggy etc sorted and have a silly question. does anyone else find their maclaren quest (or similar) hard to fold with a cosy toes in? I kind of need one given where I'm going but it always seems to jam and make a mockery of the so-called one handed fold...thinking might have to pack separately to be honest. Just wondering if I'm missing a trick.

Would never have thought just over a year ago that I'd be worrying about such things!

Hi Belle,

I fly very often (started when my baby was 6 weeks old, and he is 19 months now) on my own and always use my maclaren techno xt. I have maclaren cosytoes AND a fleece cosytoes underneath it, and although the buggy never folds completely I always leave both cosytoes on the buggy. I just warn the guys who pack the buggy on the plane that it has not completely folded and they just pick up the whole thing, and I have never had anyone refusing to pack the buggy.

It might not work if you leave the buggy at check in (and carry the baby in the sling), but I always take the buggy through bording and leave it by the plane just before getting on. There is always a helpful guy who holds the baby while I fold the buggy, so don't worry if you are travelling alone.

Good luck - everytime I do it (fly on my own) I always think: how have I done it all again by myself? But it is easy with one - it will be challenging with two!

Would never have thought just over a year ago that I'd be giving such advice!

    • yes.. I think it has. I prefered it when Everyone Active had the contract..and an additional benefit was being able to acess other EA gyms across London. Plus I think the equipment in the gym was of better quality.
    • Mad that on a thread about the telegraph (and are we saying they  are a paragon of reporting? Are we?) it just happens to be the bbc and only the bbc copping the flak headnun - I’m not sure your point about despicable people “hanging themselves” holds up in a world where despicable people appear to be taking over in so many places  for too long, these people have been given equal airtime to normal people, creating a false equivalence - the result being a lot of people seem to think “well if one person thinks smoking is bad for you and one person thinks it’s good for you, who am I to say who is right and wrong”
