Thinner and more powerful than ever before, Apple?s new 64GB Wi-Fi iPad Air 2 packs massive power into a device that you won?t want to put down. Featuring a brand new processor, next generation Retina display, Touch ID and enhanced cameras, iPad Air 2 does everything better.

Thinner and lighter than ever before

iPad Air 2 is 18% thinner than the original iPad Air. Measuring just 6.1mm thick and weighing less than 450 grams, you?ll never want to put it down. This incredible feat of fusing performance with portability is achieved by using an amazingly light yet durable aluminium unibody that ensures that you can feel the quality and an astonishingly thin display that looks better than ever. It?s easy to hold in one hand, it?ll never be a burden to take with you.

Enhanced Retina display

iPad Air 2 features a newly crafted Retina display that is not only thinner, but also better than ever before. Previous iPads have displays made of three separate components. iPad Air 2 combines these three layers into one, eliminating any gaps between them, reducing internal reflectance and resulting in richer colours, greater contrast and sharper, more vivid images. A new anti-reflective coating further reduces possible glare, making it easier to view and interact with content wherever you are. Screen sensitivity has also been improved to ensure faster, more accurate tracking of your gestures.

Massive performance

iPad Air 2 is the fastest, most powerful iPad ever thanks to its 64-bit A8X chip and M8 motion coprocessor. The A8X delivers speed and graphics that are comparable to personal computers. It?s up to 40% faster than the previous iPad Air, meaning that everything from launching apps to playing games and editing videos is more fluid and responsive. Graphical performance is enhanced to the point where console-like graphics are possible in games while design, editing and 3D modelling apps come to life with unbelievable responsiveness.

The M8 motion coprocessor works with the A8X to ensure efficiency. It continuously measures data from the accelerometer, compass, gyroscope and a new barometer, helping to preserve power and maintain a battery life that will last for up to 10 hours.

Taking security seriously

iPad Air 2 features an unprecedented level of security thanks to Touch ID. Touch ID lets you use your fingerprint as your password, letting you unlock your iPad or make secure purchases on the App Store, iTunes and iBooks. Your fingerprint information stays on your iPad- it?s not shared with anyone, even Apple, helping to ensure that your personal information remains private.

Two amazing cameras

Take incredible photos and videos with the amazing iSight and FaceTime HD cameras. The new iSight camera features an 8 megapixel sensor that can capture images in 3264 x 2448 pixels and videos in Full HD 1080p. That ensures that your images stay sharp and clear, even on larger screens. An improved image processor is better at detecting faces and keeping them in focus, as well as reducing noise to ensure cleaner, sharper images.

The front-facing FaceTime HD camera features a wider aperture, all new sensor and larger pixels to improve performance in low light. As a result, video calls on iPad Air 2 are so clear that it almost feels as if you?re in the same room. Combine that with dual microphones that work intelligently to reduce excess noise and collect more of the sounds that matter, and you?ll find video calls on iPad Air 2 sound as natural as talking to the person next to you.

iOS 9

iOS 9 has been enhanced to make it more essential than ever. Get smarter suggestions from Siri, be more productive with new multitasking features and enjoy enhanced performance and security thanks to improvements to the very foundation of iOS. It comes with powerful apps already installed that make every day easier, while existing features, like QuickType, have been enhanced to help you say what you want quicker and easier than ever. And if you're new to iPad, it's easier than ever to set things up, with the Move to iOS app, which securely transfers your contacts, message history, camera photos and videos, web bookmarks, mail accounts, calendars, wallpaper, and DRM-free songs and books from an Android device. It'll even suggest you download any free apps you were using on your old device.

Pre-installed Apps

The iOS 9 also comes with an amazing collection of apps, so you can start making the most of your iPad, straight out of the box. Take photos and videos and edit them on the go. Make video calls with FaceTime and send emails. Organise your life with Siri, Maps and the Calendar app. Plus, with over one million apps available on the App Store, you'll find plenty of options to do almost anything you can imagine.

Faster wireless

With 802.11ac Wi-Fi and MIMO support, iPad Air 2 gives you faster than ever wireless speeds, so you can browse, share, stream and download at a pace of up to 866 Mbps- that?s as much as 2.8 times faster than previous models.

    • Please rescue. There are plenty of kittens waiting in shelters for a loving home. Try reaching out to https://straycatclub.org.uk/ You can also find an endless list of shelters down below: https://www.catchat.org/index.php/cat-rescue-centres-uk-ireland You should be vetted to ensure you can provide a suitable environment. Unlike breeders, shelters ensure kittens have been spayed/neutered, microchipped & recieve their vaccination.
    • hellosailor, I feel you on this one. People continue to breathe life into the misconceptions that cats are low-maintenance, natural wanderers or that they can't be prevented from accessing a road - all of which no doubt contributes to these harsh measures. Shelters would do better using their position & platforms to educate rather than applying blanket rules that alienate potential adopters. It does sound like there are inconsistencies in the way Celia Hammond operates. I know of people who have adopted despite not providing a truly suitable environment for their cats. Personally, I was heartbroken to learn that two of the kittens that I had fostered, after being adopted, would later go "missing" on a regular basis. It's a stark reminder that while safety precautions are crucial, overly rigid policies may push well-meaning people toward buying instead of adopting, undermining the very mission of rescue organisations. TWB has taken the initiative to lead by example, teaching clients the importance of mental & physical enrichment, & having policies in place to prevent, for example, the dangers that come with giving cats access to the streets. It has become far too commonplace to see posts regarding cats who have been run over, only for the owners to adopt & repeat the cycle all over again. If shelters could provide insight on why these measures are in place & solutions, these shelters would not only free space within their shelters but educate the public & the overall standards of responsible pet ownership in London. Celia Hammond is a charity most are familiar with, but there are so many others listed within this link; https://www.catchat.org/index.php/cat-rescue-centres-uk-ireland An up & coming charity that is not found in this link, that deserves an honorable mention is https://straycatclub.org.uk/
    • Looking for a new member of the family.  Will be looking into cat resuce centre's as well before anyone mentions. But my son is in adoration with Kittens and would like to bring one up from a young age. If anyone has any leads, they would be most welcome.
    • I'm not suggesting that the staff are not good people, it's a fantastic charity to work or volunteer for and what they champion and advocate for is super important. It's great that you had a successful adoption through them and really good to hear that you had a positive experience but I was relaying that anecdotally the many people I know who have tried to rescue a cat from them have been turned down. I myself tried to adopt from them a few years ago and they nixed my application when I said I lived on a road which cars go down. They didn't even do a home visit, that was enough to rule us out. Hopefully things have changed since then to allow more animals to find a loving home.
