Hi F,

Not sure about today yet - tends to depend on state of children when I collect them from school (have my own, plus a friend's today). If we go we'd get there at about 4pm and stay until about 5.30, it is open until 6pm I believe on weekdays, though often 6.30pm by the time they really close up.

O pretty much looks after herself these days, and I spend quite a bit of time following C around (with her saying "No Mummy" in a very cross way whilst I am trying to stop her from attempting death defying leaps off some of the platforms and things). So, not ideal for a toddler I have to say, but then again, she seems to be getting over the novelty of that now and spends more time trotting around on the grass - long may that last!

Ah the joys of juggling such a big age gap and trying to keep both of them happy!

    • The other thing is that the money the council makes from the festival is not spent in the local area, whereas money made from events in other parks are. Renata Hamvas would have to approve any change to the premises licence before the events team can consider a license for the proposal in the current form. There needs to be an organised local pushback this time, to at least stop that second weekend being granted. I am thinking along the lines of a door to door petition. There are local elections next May. Lot's of opportunity to make this an election issue for impacted wards around the park. Just need to be orgaised.
    • yes.. I think it has. I prefered it when Everyone Active had the contract..and an additional benefit was being able to acess other EA gyms across London. Plus I think the equipment in the gym was of better quality.
    • Mad that on a thread about the telegraph (and are we saying they  are a paragon of reporting? Are we?) it just happens to be the bbc and only the bbc copping the flak headnun - I’m not sure your point about despicable people “hanging themselves” holds up in a world where despicable people appear to be taking over in so many places  for too long, these people have been given equal airtime to normal people, creating a false equivalence - the result being a lot of people seem to think “well if one person thinks smoking is bad for you and one person thinks it’s good for you, who am I to say who is right and wrong”
    • you're witnessing "Natural Selection" the core mechanism behind the theory of evolution which determines if organisms will survive long enough to produce offspring
