downsouth
Where is it exactly? The last pic looks like the black house at the top of Dog Kennel Hill http://money.independent.co.uk/property/homes/article2974657.ece Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/1472-jenny-eclairs-house/ Share on other sites
Jeremy
You are correct, it's at the top of DKH. With a roller parked outside. She is obviously trying to keep a low profile. downsouth
So why does she say Denmark Hill? There's no such place. It's a road going through Camberwell.Anyway, i love that house. I've driven past it a few times and admired it as it is what all modern homes should be - unapolgetically modern, elegant and stylish.Hats off to Mr Eclair! Jeremy
People often describe the area they live by the name of the nearest station... it's not uncommon! downsouth
I know that but I've never heard around there called Denmark Hill. Always Camberwell. The only place I know called Denmark Hill is the Salvation Army campus. scor46
There is no place called Denmark Hill but the 'hill' ifself is called Denmark Hill. The hill was named after the person who used to own the land.. Jessie
I always call it Denmark Hill round there. Not too fussed about the house though, either exterior and from reading the Indie today interior, but then I'm a bit boho and quite like clutter Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/1472-jenny-eclairs-house/#findComment-40118 Share on other sites

The only building apparent is the 'Fox under the Hill', on the site of today's 'Fox on the Hill' pub. The name of the area was changed to Denmark Hill in honour of the husband of Queen Anne, Prince George of Denmark, who lived there.? downsouth
Yep that's exactly what I thought. But we're confusing DKH and Denmark Hill. Denmark Hill runs to the top and on the way down is Herne Hill. Brendan
Yeah. You're right. It's just that from ED you go over Dog Kennel Hill to get to Denmark Hill Station. so it all gets a bit confusing. :-SOh and there's a funny looking house on the way. Alan Dale
That article is cr@p. Woman lives in unusual house in area she doesn't like much.So what? She lives on Grove Lane. The house is ok but it's a bit embarrassing that you can see her guffawing dinner parties through the transparent blinds as you walk past.Privacy was obviously not a priority for the design but then her red lip-stick is similarly indiscrete. Alan Dale
I doubt she's a slag Rosie but you are entitled to your opinion. Personally I think that the lipstick is about attention seeking. That is her job though and apparently she tones it down in Sainsbury's.
