After school care needed in Forest Hill -up to 20 hours per week

Recommended Posts

We're looking for someone to look after our two children aged 6 and 8 after school 3-5 days a week from September. Our children are at Kilmorie Primary School and we live nearby. We need someone responsible and caring to collect our children from school at 3.30, walk them home, give them dinner and supervise their homework. Some nights they have activities which they will need taking to and/or collecting from. Our children are full of energy and lots of fun so the role would suit someone active who would enjoy taking them to the park and their various sporting activities. We get home around 7pm so this role would suit someone who is able to commit to between 15-25 hours per week. We can reduce the hours for the right person or increase them adding in some additional hours of light household chores if that works for you. We don't need a qualified nanny for this role. For the last year we have had a great post graduate student who did the job around her studies so please do get in touch by PM if you'd like to discuss further. Ideally we need someone who can stay with us until at least July next year. Thanks, Emma

    • Last year I ordered a coffee grinder as a Christmas present, to be sent to a friend in a Greece. The order was made in mid-November. Unfortunately, the retailer sent it by UPS. There started a grindingly frustrating two months of being caught in the Möbius Loop of UPS bureaucracy and incompetence. They kept claiming that the address couldn’t be found and despite having two telephone numbers, not once did they phone the recipient. Then I changed the delivery to an estate agent’s office in the nearby main village, situated on the main street with clear address, telephone numbers  and signs. Again, they claimed not to be able to find the address, which was farcical. Yet again, they made no attempt to phone to check. Eventually, the parcel was delivered at the end of January and yes, a vital part was broken. It was clear that the parcel was lying around in a depot and was chucked in a corner to be covered with other boxes and packets. When I tried to claim the cost of replacing the broken part, they indulged in the sort of passive aggressive stalling that corporate behemoths like them are so good at. Eventually I gave up and took the spare part with me when visiting. I have to say that they are the worst company I’ve ever dealt with, along with Scottish Power. I wouldn’t trust them to deliver anything and make sure I tell anyone who wants to listen that they should avoid them like the plague!
    • what? banging a saucepan not enough for these ungrateful so called "doctors"???
    • Niko is responsive, professional, efficient and super friendly. He fit me in late in the day for an important job . We had a leaking pipe under the sink which was going into the downstairs flat. He didn’t just fix the leak but checked the boiler, pulled out the washing machine and checked all the pipes, he really went the extra mile. Cannot recommend him enough.
    • Perhaps some of you are unaware of the damage that the coalition did to our economy through their unnecessary programme that f'cked public services and led to a massive drop in real term pay across the public sector. Or maybe your teachers, doctors, nurses do not deserve a decent wage.  Quite shocking if you are into this American way of thinking.
