...don't bother applying unless you've can pay by Visa as it's the only accepted method of payment. I find the whole ballot thing irritating as well. I'd like to go and see some of the swimming but if I don't get tickets for the day I've chosen I'd like to have the opportunity to have picked another day/event. The only way I can do this is by applying for lots of days/events but then I could get more than I wanted / could afford. There ought to be a way of ranking the application (a bit like the schools app. process) so that you can apply for many events in order of importance.

The cheapest tickets for the swimming event I've chosen are ?50 so that's ?200 for the family + ?6(!) booking fee.

But you're probably only ever going to attend an Olympics once in your life - ?200 for a once in a lifetime event isn't too bad surely? That's how I'm looking at it - I can be as cynical and down beat as the next man, but for this I choose to look at the glass half full.

Regrettably staging an Olympics is costly - the costs have to be covered in some fashion and high ticket prices, use of VISA etc are all part of the devil's pact that has been struck.

I put in applications for 3 events, swimming, athletics and gymnastics all at the cheap seats ?20 per ticket (2 per event) which I don't think is too bad but then when I can't see anything that is going on I'll be complaining then!!

Haven't actually completed the application as when I put my card details in it wouldn't accept them as my card expires in June. I never read the email about this but you would think something like that wouldn't be a problem.

I think ranking the application would be a better idea, if the tickets went on sale all at once there would be a mad rush, systems crash, and the touts end up with even more.

I understand that if you get more tickets than you actually want you can sell them back at face value?

From the website:

How do refunds and resales work if I decide I don't want my tickets?

You should consider your budget very carefully when applying for tickets. Once your application is processed you cannot cancel, change or return the tickets you are allocated. When you apply, the maximum amount you could be charged will be made clear to you and you'll need to have sufficient funds available to cover this.

Customers will have the opportunity to resell their tickets at face value through the official London 2012 resale programme in 2012. This will be the only authorised way to buy tickets from people offering their tickets for resale. Further details will be announced in early 2012.

From what I have gathered from the application process.. we will either be loaning Olympics PLC several thousand pounds and desperately hoping we can re-sell all the tickets we assumed we wouldn't get, or listening to the shooting from our restricted view seating - located behind a pillar. Or anywhere in between.

Beautiful.

At least the pensioners won't be spending the next 60/70 years paying for the games!

A cheaper and possibly better alternative may be 'park tickets'. You will be able to buy a day ticket for the olympic park and sit on one of the many 'henman hills' that are being built. With the large screens to watch I think you may be a better (and close up) view of the action. Also when in the park you can sign up to get 'return' tickets so if people leave the venues early you are on a list to be called to the venue.

The park tickets aren't on sale yet.

Bring packed lunches as all food is McD and drinks are Coca-Cola only.

To impress his new date, a young man went to the rooftop of his apartment building to work on his tan. Not wanting any tan lines, he sunbathed in the nude. Unfortunately, he fell asleep and sunburned his cock. But being very determined, he decided not to miss his date, so he put some ointment on the beast and wrapped it in a bandage.

The young man's date, a beautiful blonde, showed up at his apartment for the promised home cooked meal and was treated to a feast. After they finished with dinner they went into the living room to watch a movie. But during the movie, the young man's sunburn started acting up, and after several minutes of extreme discomfort he asked to be excused.

A friend had told him that clotted cream was very effective in reducing sunburn pain, so he went to the kitchen, poured a tall glass of cream, dropped his trousers and underpants, then placed his sunburned cock in the cream - he experienced immediate relief.

The blonde, wondering what the young man was doing, wandered into the kitchen and found him with his cock still immersed in the glass of cream. With a look of complete amazement, she exclaimed: "So that?s how you load those things!!!?

Hello,

I am a reporter at Channel 4 news and I am interested in interviewing you or indeed anyone else who is keen to be on camera about the bidding system for olympic tickets (the lottery of bidding; cost; method of payment etc). I can travel to you, it's for the news this evening, are you around anytime early afternoon? I will need 20mins with you.

Best

Capitalist.....

I have applied for the tennis final. Thats all I'm interested in and its not even a real olympic sport. I don't expect to get tickets, so its TV for me - or beach volleyball tickets from ebay nearer the time, just to get involved.

I'm peeved that there was only one price band for the cross country section at Greenwich - well out of my reach.

I've plumped for dressage, 100m heats and synchronised diving (the last under extreme pressure from my teenage girl). \don't expect to get any of them, and I certainly don't want all of them or my bank will be v. unhappy.

Are you trying to win an award for the worst possible collection of Olympic tickets? :)

If you do it that way it's fastest finger on the trigger which isn't fair and also the touts are the winners as they have ways of scooping up tickets when it's first come first served. The system isn't great though, encourages you to overbook (I could be in real trouble if they all come off) and not transparent enough for me.

My guess is Mr Jacques Roggeringu is sat stroking his cat whilst a computer programme works out how to fleece us to maximum effect and somehow demands from me ?1,000 to watch the heats of the Greco-Roman wrestling.

Still, can't wait to go to some, but please not all, of the events I applied for.

The other problem is that they haven't told us how many seats in each price band there are in the venue.

It's all very well getting a base level ticket but then you find that there are 10 of them and they're all behind pillars. It would have been good to have a sense of 10% of the aquatic centre is level D, 30% is level C, 40% is level B and 20% is level A - at least that way, you'd get an idea of what kind of view you might end up with with each price band.

I agree with the ballot to avoid the rush at the start. but I'd have liked to have seen a 'winners' notification before payment with the opportunity to cancel some but I believe that's why they ended up with empty seats in Beijing/Athens so they figured confirmed payment was the best bet.

The day tickets sound like an excellent idea - I suspect I'll definitely be up for a few of those when the most popular of my ticket applications fail!
