Fidgetsmum
I'm getting some curtains made and they will be interlined so relatively heavy. I've got a square bay to cover so the pole that the curtains will sit on will be attached to the ceiling of the bay - not the wall. Can anyone recommend what I can do as I keep seeing poles I like but have heard I have to be careful that they won't break with the weight of the curtains. red devil
I'd be more worried about getting a decent connection into the ceiling than the pole breaking. Why can't you fix it to the wall above the window, or to the top of the window frame? Fidgetsmum
There's not enough space. The frame literally ties into the ceiling with no spare space. Not to mention the fact that the window sill and radiator stick out sufficiently that the curtain needs to hang further 'in'. Annette Curtain
Red devil is right. It's the pole bracket to ceiling that will be the weakest link, you'll need to fix to a joist. Though make sure to have a pole that is up to it. Try here.If your heavy interlined curtains break a 51mm Ash pole then i'll eat my proverbial hat.A.Curtain Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/18363-curtain-hanging-question/#findComment-453863 Share on other sites

dbboy
You could try contacting making tracks in South Norwood. They installed a light curtain track for me in a rear bedroom bay on the ceiling of the bay. Was done promptly and with no problems. recommendationAddress:275 South Norwood HillLondonSE25 6DP Telephone:020 8653 6505 Email:[email protected] Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/18363-curtain-hanging-question/#findComment-454166 Share on other sites
