Light and pleasant double room on the ground floor of our 3 storey house, 4-5 minutes' walk from North Dulwich station, available from 1 September. The room is fully furnished and has french windows onto the garden. You would have your own bathroom upstairs. Would suit a single professional female. ?100 per week (including bills).

Hello

My name is Francesca, and for the next two years I will be a mature law student at Birkbeck College as well as working part time. I've previously worked as a programme / grants officer for charities in London and also do some freelance translation. I lived in SE22/SE15 for many years, before moving to Hastings. Although I have my own place now in Hastings which is only 62 miles away, unfortunately it isn't practical to commute so I am looking to find a home in London and Herne Hill would be great as it would feel like coming back home!

I'm hoping to find somewhere convivial and civilized to stay, I'm a very considerate person and I hope always respectful of others' spaces and habits. Although I'm looking for a place for up to two years I would be happy with a shorter term rental. A 1st September start would be perfect timing for me.

At the moment I'm staying in Brockley and could come to meet you tomorrow (Sunday) or Monday evening if that would be convenient.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards

Fran

    • Naaah, it's rubbish - it would be a change of use so would need planning. https://www.planningdirect.co.uk/planningappeals/affordable-planning-applications/change-of-use/commercial-to-takeaway-change-of-use There's not enough footfall for a McDonalds, anyway, and they're quite picky about their sites
    • So let's never do anything that might improve an area, because it will just be dragged down to the level of what's presently there? Is that what you are saying? I don't have the time or the inclination to do the research, but I'm pretty sure that I have read  that when people who had lived in a very run down area  were given  nice surroundings, they appreciated and looked after them.
