After a stint of excellent sleep from Baby whilst we were away and she was sharing a room with our son, we've decided to evict her from our room and put her cot in our son's room.

For those of you who have two in the same room; how do you do bedtime? On holiday, my husband sorted our sons pjs and milk and then put him in his cot whilst I swaddled and fed the baby in our room before transferring her to their shared room but my husband won't be home in time for their bath/bedtime.

Tips, anyone?

I put mine together when baby (W) was 8 months and my older son (S) was 2 years 2 months - we gave W the cot bed and put S straight into a bed. I usually fed W sitting on my bed with S next to me for his story and milk. Depending on how things were going I would either then pop them both down at the same time - W was usually milk drunk and ready for his cot and S was so thrilled at his big boy bed that he never made a fuss, or if W was being grizzly, I put him down in his cot first and then read S another story in my room then popped him in bed once baby was asleep

They loved sharing and did it until we moved house last October when S was 4 and a half and W was 3

Sorry I don't have anything particularly useful to say - but isn't this an awesome bit of kit?!?

How do you do bed time on your own normally? I settle the eldest then go off to feed the baby in his room - could you not do this then feed in your room then transfer baby back into their room? Or just get a feeding chair in their room, settle S, turn off lights and feed baby (ignore toddler antics!).

We've just moved our big girl out of the shared room with her sis as she has been complaining of baby sis bothering her at night....

But to answer your question, when they were in together, I would get them dressed in PJs together, then big sis would take herself to our bed while I fed baby and put to sleep. Once baby was down, I would go to our room to read books, where she fell asleep and was transferred back to her own room when we turned in for the night (or sometimes stayed with us). Sometimes baby would cry throughout books and I would then have to go and start all over again with bubs....

Sb; at the moment I bath them together, then seb has his milk and I put him in his pjs whilst Lex kicks about starkers on her playmat. Then I dress her, swaddle her and feed her, whilst reading to Seb. Then he points to his cot, goes in and lights out. Then I take lex through to my room and feedher to the point of beige comatose(!)

last night, she fell asleep whilst we were doing stories and I put her in her cot but S was screaming his head off; nights are a bit weird ATM. Teething/sleep regression we think. Anyway, I took her out of her cot and put her in the middle of our bed but I was too scared to transfer her in case we woke up S and we had a huge bedtime trauma all over again...

    • I was several miles away and I didn't miss it, as apparently didn't lots of others also several miles away. But as I and others reported although we guessed it was fireworks it sounded more like the WWI front line, albeit from a distance!

    • Hi. I hope everyone is well. I’m just wondering if anyone in the East Dulwich area has a working VHS/DVD Combi unit that records from VHS to DVD.  Or if anyone is willing to allow me to borrow or lend it for a time until I get all my videos transferred over. I am looking for a few on eBay but either they do not have the recording function or they are just too expensive.  If anyone can help I would be so grateful.  My current one which is a Sharp make started recording fine after years of not being used, then all of a sudden it stopped and hasn’t worked since. When I put a tape in and try, the machine shuts down, and the play button on the remote seems stuck. Thank you to anyone in advance that would be so kind enough to help xx
    • A quick update - my InPost parcels are being accepted sporadically at Barry's, but only one at a time and every few days, after many refusals - one was refused SEVEN times over about ten days - and several phone calls. As a comparison, I had a message from Yodel that a parcel that was going to Barry's is being delivered to another nearby store, which is interesting...
