SteveUK1978
In years gone by has anyone tried to get back to ED on New Years Eve from Central London after the fireworks by the London Eye?I know the tube runs for free all night but does anyone know if in the past the train companies do the same to ED, Peckham Rye or even Herne Hill. No clues on their website that I could see. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/20528-nye-travel/ Share on other sites
Sue
I did a couple of years back. Can't remember the exact time, because we were at an event on the South Bank which carried on after the fireworks had finished. So far as I recall it was a bit of a nightmare.Had to walk to the Elephant to get a bus (because of road closures etc.) then had to walk from Camberwell.Didn't occur to me to get a train as you'd have to go to London Bridge first which is in the wrong direction. the-e-dealer
You could try Waterloo East to Lewisham ANd Lewisham back to pecky.I think the trains have been free in the past not sure whether they will be again- and obviously train timetables will vary. the-e-dealer
According to Southern Trains waterloo to lewisham will be ?2.60 and trains run every 2 minutes after midnight- I suspect there is something wrong with their website Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/20528-nye-travel/#findComment-499764 Share on other sites
nloyall
I ended up walking back as the buses coming down from Leic Sq were jam packed and there were scores of people waiting at bus stops.
