Cleaning

Recommended Posts

Hi all, I just wanted to add a comment in support of Marcia. Marcia has been cleaning for my family for a while now. We are very lucky to have found her. She cleans our huge house to a very high standard. She doesn't need constant reminders to keep the standard high and does a thorough job each week without any comment at all from us. She is very friendly and nice to have around. She is flexible and accommodating and gets along really well with my two children. A strong recommendation from me.

Generally speaking I have very high standards and have had issues with a couple of the cleaners that have been recommended on here, particularly one who self recommends. We tried a few before we found Marcia. Some of them do a very basic clean with absolutely no attention to detail and don't like to be told their work needs more attention. We had one lady turn up that didn't speak a word of English and attempted to clean the whole house with window cleaner. Then another lady who used bleach on our wooden table and ruined the finish. Marcia knows her stuff and has basic common sense not to do these things.

    • I'm all for good design v bad design (accepting that can be subjective) but I suspect most people formally and actively objecting to this (and many similar schemes across the country) aren' TOO exercised by the design - it's just blocking for blocking sake and is a major reason this country can't build anything If we are going to house people, not everyone is going to have a parking space or garden - sorry kids. look to Europe and other parts of the world where denser housing is more commonplace. I can't see any reason why a major capital like London can't build schemes of this scale
    • Did you go to any of the meetings I thought the designs were pretty good.
