Daisy and the trouble with... Books by Kes Gray are good. Or Clever Polly and the Stupid Wolf by Catherine Storr. If you need more recommendations try Tales on Moon Lane in Herne Hill - they're good at that

Rainbow fairies series. Terrible but they all seem to like them.

cant go wrong with Roald Dahl I say (not sure I spelt it right though).

For younger ones The magic finger, the twits and fantastic Mr Fox, but charlie and chocolate factory and matilda are good ones too.
