Free HP printer for parts. Stuck on logo startup ? ?

Hi I got this HP printer stuck on the logo startup so its going to the dump site but before it does i just want to offer to anyone want it for parts or something ? ? The little led monitor could be useful and the scanner light is bright and low in voltage so can be use for something ? ? If only I got a workshop !

Try holding down the cancel button before you turn it on and keep holding it after you have switched it on. Should perform a hard reset

I have tried that and holding down when off # key with 9 then turn it on but for some reason its not doing a hard reset ? ? So I give up.
