I saw the fox and it was indeed behaving strangely. Being out in broad daylight, wandering around in the open, scavenging for bits of duck food and seemingly completely unafraid of humans are all atypical behaviours, suggesting that the fox is ill, usually with a severe case of mange. This one looked fairly healthy and was very young. Perhaps simply a new adaptive behaviour of the urban fox?
