Barber recommendation?

Hello all,

I'm a recent american transplant to the area, and I'm in dire need of a good haircut.

Looking for a proper barber, some place that focuses on men's haircuts, without trying to flog "product" at me or stylizing anything. I've lost too much hair on top at this point to worry about style much at this point in life!

My best barber experiences have always been a crotchety old man who has a pair of clippers and scissors, with some combs soaking in alcohol, and piles of long-expired mens magazines stacked somewhere. Does such a place as this exist in SE london? Fingers crossed!

hmmm, too late to try out the free beer barbershop, but next time around I'll give it a go. GK Barbers sorted the situation pretty well, in and out in 15 minutes. Thanks for the tip.

There's a proper barber shop on Atwell Road (off Rye Lane, opp. Choumert Rd, SE15) run by Steve, Greek Cypriot, been in Peckham for 50 years, charges ?6 for a very good haircut. Superb.
