Hi, my name is Tom Breare and I've been working as an A-level chemistry teacher in a central London school for the past two years, gaining my QTS. I have a Master's in Chemistry with Honours from the University of Nottingham and have been tutoring for over five years. The average grade of my class was 46% when I started teaching them, after three months this increased to 68% and many are now on track to get an A or above in their final exams.

With the sales pitch out of the way, I am a friendly and supportive teacher who takes the time to help students in whatever way they need. It is because of this that my students make such quick progress; often, they don't lack knowledge but lack the confidence to use it. I help students to gain a really firm understanding of the mechanics of chemistry so that daunting topics like acids and bases will make them smile with relief rather than cringe. Through my experience teaching and tutoring, I have a deep understanding of mark schemes for AQA, OCR and Edexcel exam boards. I ensure that students gain this knowledge too, to ensure they access the top marks. We will focus on question types too, such as practical questions, to complete their mastery of the subject. My approach has worked for many students and allowed them to excel and even enjoy chemistry. It is a fascinating subject and I am looking forward to exploring it with any prospective students.

The first session is half-price. I offer in person for south London addresses and online tuition.

    • @CPR Dave What do you consider is the end game in the US/Israel attack on Iran.  Surely the US considered the impact on global trade.  I really don't believe the current leadership care. Interesting that one criticism that this alliance makes is the lack of free media/free speech, yet everything coming out of America and Israel is justifying their action.  Talk about regime change confuses me when they talk about the killing of citizens in Iran by the regime.  Israel, and (in recent times) to a lesser extent the US, have killed many civilians. Back to the thread, best thing I've found in these situations is not to drive.  Funnily enough in the fuel shortage of 2000, I managed to get some fuel at this service station.  Maybe the only time I have ever used it.
    • I had heard of recent calls - North Somerset Councillor but my cursory search about Barkenham (very apt name) was out of date. I did see Bolzano in Italy and in Spain.
    • That comment is genuinely the stupidest thing I have ever read on this forum.
    • Thanks Anyone remember, getting out of bed years ago to be first in gas queue?  Hoping not going to happen again….who knows!  One has to pay, simple as that or walk or take pb transport or taxi/ uber..
