Police Incident outside Rose Fish/Parade East Dulwich Roas

Does anyone happen to know why the police closed the road on Saturday night (6 or so police cars) outside the parade of shops on East Dulwich road?

A young girl ran out in the road and was hit by a bike according to a post on Facebook.

That's horrible, I hope she's ok.

When there is a large police presence near your home it's normal to wonder the reason for your own peace of mind. You can read it as digital rubbernecking, but it isn't.

I hope she and the rider of the bike are ok.

I feel its understandable that locals may be concerned when they see a road taped off and police presence.

How on earth do you equate people asking on a local forum  about police presence and road closure near their home with "busybodies and ghoulish people gossiping" , when they are asking because they don't know what has happened?

And why have you included  that link? Nobody has posted any photos on here.

I can't remember if it was Charlie Booker or Victor Lewis-Smith who described rubberneckers as the kind of people who'd get rid of the translucent film on ambulance windows if it meant they could get a better look.

I think it's unfair to say anyone local enquiring, is the same rubbernecking.  The link you posted is for drivers, and those there, not involved, at an incident, and in particular people who photograph and video accidents.  This is not the same.  We all want to know what is happening in our area, particularly if it's about safety.  Isn't that what this forum is for? 

I hope the girl and the biker are okay.

You're being a bit of a dick. The whole point of a forum is to discuss what is going on in the locality and this seems as reasonable a question as anything.
