After a fully booked half term holiday club in October, we're now planning our next Nimble Arts half term holiday club in February 2015, running from the 16th - 20th February. Booking will open really soon, so you can sign up to be the first to know at http://nimblearts.co.uk/?page_id=217, and we'll open advance booking on here too!

Each day we will run creative workshops for 4-11 year olds (workshops 10 - 4, with early drop off/late pick up available 8.30 - 5, half days only for 4 year olds), and we're also launching our Nimble Arts Masterclass strand for 11 - 14 year olds. These will be small, focussed afternoon workshops really exploring and experiencing different art forms, places very limited!

We'll update here when booking opens, but the days will be:

And here's what some parents have been saying about our courses:

'He has already asked if he can go to another workshop!'

?Thanks so much for last Tuesday?s band workshop. E enjoyed it so much and can?t stop talking about it.? Ian, Parent

?Just thought I?d pass on that D said today was fantastic ? and the best day of her half term by some way!? Emma, Parent

?As a granny responsible for some fetching and taking of two participants, I just wanted to say how impressed I was by the teachers running the course. They were so gentle, friendly and positive and understood brilliantly my rather quirky 8-year-old grand-daughter. How wonderful if all primary school teachers could be like them!? Brigid, Grandparent

?they also loved the band who came in on Tuesday, it?s really the best holiday club they?ve ever been to!? Parent

Via Twitter: ?I love Nimble Arts, it?s the best holiday club in the area by far!? #eastdulwich

From the East Dulwich Forum: ?It?s really very good ? they do absolutely loads and it?s very creative and fun.?

Nimble HQ will be open for a couple more days if you've any questions about the courses, and we'll be taking bookings throughout the festive period, but get in there quickly, as places normally book up in advance of the courses. We'll also be running clubs in Easter and the May bank holiday, and will open advance booking soon for anyone who is particularly organised!

Have a lovely Christmas and new years break, and we look forward to seeing many of you soon for a crafty and creative 2015.

Just an update on spaces available, as our inbox is heaving a bit as this seems to be the week in which everyone is booking up their half term plans! We've still got room on all days for both holiday clubs and masterclasses. They're particularly going quickly for the start of the week, so we imagine that the Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday may fill up fairly soon (we're nearing 2/3 full on these days). At the moment, there's still plenty of room so far on the Thursday and Friday. Our sound lab day (the Thursday) has often been our most popular, and we had a fairly long waiting list last time, so I'll pop a note on here if it's looking busy. Friday tends to often have more room as we know it's a day many parents have off work!

I'll keep this posted! Any questions about Nimble Arts, do email us at [email protected], or drop me a message here, and you can book online at our website.

We're just perfecting our final touches to the workshop details each day, so I'll get this up on here and on our website within the next couple of days too. What I can say is that we have a very exciting team of professional artists, photographers, film makers and more ready to lead some top notch creative sessions, we can't wait!

And if you're very organised and thinking of next holidays, just to let you know we'll definitely be running for the whole Easter break, apart from the bank holiday Monday and Friday (although we may be cooking up something different those days), and also over the May half term holiday.

    • Thought I’d take a trip down to Rye Lane this morning to visit the charity shops etc. I usually park in the Morrisons car park and buy stuff there and then the nearby shops. I know there are a few shops near the Aylesham centre that are having to close (Boots the chemist was a shoplifters favourite over the years) but I was shocked to see the extent of shop closures, graffiti, overall decline in the area.  Sometimes I get the bus and wanted to visit the Crises charity shop but it didn’t open until 10.30am and it had a coffee place inside. They have a shop in Rye Lane but are missing out on early rising customers. Walking down towards Santendar and the Primark store was very empty.Just hope that isn’t due for closure. The security guards are very nonchalant. The Scope charity shop has a prime position but doesn’t promote the shop Greggs have done away with their self service due to the number of thefts of food items.  The Poundland was quite empty too but I visit this one as they have stock since the Camberwell one closed down.
    • Maybe I'm behind the times, but in the old days if you went to a pub for charity fundraiser you'd have a quiz or karaoke and you'd be chipping in for a new scanner at your local hospital or maybe sending some poor kiddie for some cancer treatment abroad. Nowadays you can roll down to the Old Nun's head in Nunhead and tip your money into a bucket for some sad young woman to go a private surgeon and have her breasts sliced off -  as if that was going to be some kind of life-saving treatment!  Not only that, she's publicising her Valentine's crowdfunder with a funny ha ha (not) cartoon of a girl (see pic) with a hypodermic in her bum and calling it 'Valen-Tits-off'. Jesus wept. Whatever happened to hearts and flowers? It's so unbelievably sick. I'm a woman, I've pretty much still got all the woman-bits intact. Periods and puberty weren't much fun, I was bullied at school, wondered about my sexuality and boys and spots and the rest of it, got called a lezzer by the class cow, but I got through it. And I would no more think that cutting bits off a girl was the solution to her misery than I would put my teenage daughter on a diet if she was diagnosed with anorexia. I can't be the only person who finds the pub - and its publicity material - very VERY offensive?
    • I know you asked for recommendations, but I have lots of families who would happily give a glowing reference for my tutoring.  Will DM you.
    • There's Gather  in Bellenden Road. And doesn't the Turkish (?) shop sell no packaging things? I'm sure it used to at one point. Maybe it stopped.
