Does anyone know where you can buy a key for the new-type water meter stopcocks? They have a hexagonal shaft.

Had a bit of a Google and seems loads of people with same problem ..

Seems no one able to find where to buy ??

Best solution seemed to be a socket set. Depends how deep your meter is.

You could try Bells on Lordship Lane. They may be able to order one if you know the size.

Got ours on Ebay with lots of different shaped ones.

OK, I've managed to answer my own question after sussing out a friend's water meter.

A 10mm hex key does the trick perfectly.
