Found a package two days ago on our doorstep containing an old fashioned paper embosser with our address on it. Clearly dates from the time before postcodes. Just SE. Returned to its home by Christine who had bought it in a box of old bits according to the note left with it. So kind. It would have belonged to the man who lived here for c50 years before us. He worked at a printers. Feels like part of the house's history.

That's so nice! I remember my grandmother used to have one in the form of a heavy metal dog and I could never understand why it couldn't be used when she moved house.
